The Pretender

Chapter 1

~Third person~
Rylan laid back on his bed, sighing happily. He's been living in this house with Kurt, Krist, and Dave since he was 19. He was 23 now. Life was going good, sure it had it's lows, but it was going good for the most part. He met some new people and made new friends, started a new band, stopped doing drugs like he promised, he felt amazing.

But nothing good can last forever.

Of course there was something that was gonna fuck up Rylan's life again. He just attracted those kinds of things. Except it's something he can't really just get over like most of his other problems.

Depression, anxiety, stress. He thought he left those behind. But with his band, now that it's actually going somewhere, he's considered famous now. The people in the crowds are assholes, they just want them to play one song over and over. It was their most popular song, so who could blame them for wanting the band to play it? The thing was, Rylan was getting tired of having to play it. Most of the people in the crowd would show up just to listen to that song, then they would leave.

But he's famous, he shouldn't be feeling upset since he's got stuff to look forward to...right?

He sighed again, covering his face with a pillow. Dave knocked on the door, walking in "Hey kiddo" Rylan looked at him "I'm 23, I'm not a kiddo" Dave flipped his hair back, "Why so grumpy, did you start your period or something?" Rylan laughed "Fine, fine, you can call me kiddo." Dave smiled, sitting by him "Good" he looked at him "How're you holding up?" Rylan sighed "Not well, I hate being famous." Dave nodded "Why don't you take a break?" Rylan scoffed "The others won't listen to me. After all, I'm just the one who formed the band, no big deal." He covered his face with the pillow, Dave pat his head.

"It's okay, everything's gonna be okay"
