Batwoman: Adopting ?

Chapter 4

Ryan's POV
As I'm playing 2K with Tony, Soph whispered in my ear saying she wants to talk to me. So I gave the console to Sierra for her to play for me and we walked away where they can't hear us.

Ryan: If you wanted some alone time, all you had to do was ask Soph *flashes her famous charming smile at her*
Sophie: *laughs and shake her head.* it's not that. I wanted to talk to you about Tony and Sierra and Tiana.
Ryan: ohhhh. But Baby, You know I'm not rushing you right? You can take your time with this. You don't have to give me an answer.....
Sophie: I want us to keep them.
Ryan:.............What?
Sophie: I want us to adopt them. When I look at them, I just can't see them with anyone else.
Ryan: Are you serious?
Sophie: I'm very serious.
Ryan: *smiles, gives her a kiss and hugs her* I'm so glad your on board with this.
Sophie: me too.
Ryan: so what's the plan?
Sophie: I should be asking you that.
Ryan: they're still in the foster care system. Do we just go to them? They're runaways. Including Tiana.
Sophie: I don't know. But, we'll figure it out. When do you want to tell them?
Ryan: want to tell them now?
Sophie: let's see what they think.

Ryan: Hey guys!

We walked over to them and sat on the couch.

Tony: *pauses the game* What's up?
Ryan: So, we want to ask you something.
Tony: Okay. What's going on?
Ryan: Well.......How would you feel about being adopted? Having a family?
Tony: I mean, it would be cool. Not that it would replace our true family.
Ryan: Oh of course not.
Tony: but it would be cool to have another family. I can have someone I can talk to. About school, dreams, girls, Relationships.
Sierra: Me too.
Sophie: Well, what if we were to tell you that we know people that want to adopt you three?
Sierra: Really?
Tony: You serious?
Ryan: Yeah. They're a big family I heard. You'll have love, a roof, and trust me the protection will be handled cause you see. Two people in that family are two black superheroes. And I heard one of them saved your life from two robbers. So, what you guys think?
Tony: You two want to adopt us?
Ryan: *looks at Sophie and smiles* yeah. We do. *looks back at Tony*
Tony: *smiles while he starts to tear up*
Ryan: Bro if you start crying
Tony: I am not crying! *starts crying*
Ryan: *starts to tear up and gives him a hug* made me ruin my makeup.
Tony: Your the the one turning soft. You shouldn't be talking. *laughs while crying and hugging her* thank you Ryan. Thank you
Sophie: *looks at Sierra and smiles at her*
Sierra: *climbs up to the couch to hug her around her neck*
Sophie: oh. *hugs her back while she starts to smile*

Tiana is just sitting down on the blanket that we laid out for her and she's clapping her hands and screaming yay. And everyone just started laughing.

Sophie's POV
I made eye contact with Ryan as she's hugging Tony. She smiled at me and I smiled at her. We're having a family.

Ryan: Okay. Now that we got all those tears out the way. I failed to mention to you guys that I have a mom and a brother.
Tony: really?
Ryan: Yeah. My real mom.
Tony: How did you found them?
Ryan: Long story for another day. But, it would mean a lot to me for you to meet them.
Tony: We would love that. I hope that they'll like me.
Ryan: Trust me, they love my bat team. And my lady. They will love you. I'm going to head back to work okay?
Tony: yeah.
Sierra: Okay. *goes up to hug her*
Ryan: *hugs her back while she rubs her back* okay. See you guys soon.

Ryan's POV
As I headed downstairs, I see my mom and Marquis sitting down talking. I told my co worker to cover for me while I go talk to them.

Ryan: Mom! Marquis! Hey, What's up?
Marquis: Just wanted to check on my baby sis. *Does their signature hand shake*
Jada: How are you doing honey?
Ryan: I'm good. Is everything okay?
Jada: Yes of course. What, we can't check in on you?
Ryan: Oh no! I didn't mean it like that. It's just, you know me. Want to make sure everything is alright first.
Jada: We get it. It's the hero in you.
Marquis: Yeah.
Ryan: Well I'm glad you two are here actually.
Marquis: Really?
Ryan: Yes. Because I wanted to talk to you two.
Jada: I think it's our turn now to ask you is everything alright?
Marquis: yeah. Is someone messing with you? Cause you know I got you.
Ryan: *laughs* no Marquis. But thank you tho. It's something good.
Jada. oh. Okay. Well, we're all ears honey.
Ryan: okay Um......

As I started to talk, I happened to see Sophie. She is going to kill me later for having her in this conversation with them. But this is what we wanted. And I want her by my side when I tell them.

Ryan: Hey Soph, can you head over here please?

She walked over, greeted Marquis and Jada with a hug and sat next to me.

Ryan: Okay. So we decided for a while that we wanted to adopt. But, we didn't get time to actually head to the adopting agency. But, this crazy thing happened. I was on Bat duty last night and there was this robbery in a 7 eleven store. It had two kids in there that I managed to help in the end. I spoke with them. A 13 year old girl and a 16 year old boy. I wanted to find out why they were out so late at night and where were their parents? Turns out, that they were living in their van along with their other sister who is 8 months old and that both of their parents died in a car accident. After handling the robbery, the little girl had a scratch and needed to be looked at. So we took them to Mary to have her look at it. And, I don't know. It's just with all of that, I can't help but look at them and say to myself that I can't see anyone else being their family. And So, I spoke with Sophie this morning and I talked to her about wanting to adopt them. I asked her what she thought about it and she said that she needed time to make her decision and later on today she said that we should adopt them. So, what do you think mama?
Jada: You want to take them in?
Ryan: I know how it sounds. I just met them and everything. But, they don't have anyone mom. All they had was their mother and father. And now that they're gone, they have no one. And if they go back to the foster system, all three of them will be separated. They're each other's family. So, I'm asking what you two think about it?
Marquis: Well, you know I'm down with having nieces and nephews. You know that.
Ryan: *smiles at Marquis* Mom?
Jada: *Smiles at Ryan* I'm all good with it honey.
Ryan: *smiles* thank you.
Jada: your welcome baby girl. But, you guys make sure to do it the legal way. You know you guys are going to have to go to the adoption agency.
Sophie: I actually was going to talk to her about that.
Ryan: I just hope nothing happens to them. They've been on the streets for a long time. They never went back.
Jada: well then, we'll do whatever we can to protect them. If you two need help, we're here.
Ryan: Thank you both. For supporting me.
Marquis: You know I got you sis. And you know mom is here for you also.
Ryan: *smiles* thank you.
Jada: *smiles at her* well we gotta head out. Just wanted to drop by and check in on you. And your lovely wife.
Sophie: always glad to see you too Jada.
Ryan: *smiles* I appreciate that mama. Let me know when you guys are home.
Jada: we will. *hugs her* I love you baby girl
Ryan: *hugs her back* I love you too mom.
Marquis: see you again sis. *does their signature handshake*
Ryan: See you again. *hugs him* I love you bro.
Marquis: *smiles and hugs her back* I love you too baby sis

I watched as my mom and brother left and I looked at Sophie and smiled.

Sophie: we ordered pizza. That's why I came down here. Just waiting for it to come.
Ryan: Oh okay. I'll be here. Text me if anything.
Sophie: will do. *kisses her cheek*

Sophie's POV
As I picked up the pizza, I went back upstairs and told Tony and Sierra that the pizza is here and that they can help themselves. They came and took a slice straight from the box and started eating. I found it cute and hilarious.

Tony: *laughs* what?
Sophie: Nothing, it's just y'all getting a slice and eating it without a plate or anything is interesting.
Sierra: We get it from our Dad. He'd do that every time we get pizza.
Sophie: Ohh really?
Tony: he said it saves dishes from being in the sink.
Sophie: *laughs* That is true. Teach me. How do you do it?
Tony: you just take it from the box, fold it and eat it.
Sophie: aren't you scared the oil will get on your clothes?
Tony: That's why we use our extra hand.
Sophie: *laugh* hahaha I love this.

Both Tony and Sierra laughs at my attempts to eat it without using a plate.

Sophie: *laughs* what? Did I do it right?
Tony: You did. We just thought it was funny watching you do it for the first time.
Sierra: Yeah

I look at them and can't help but think, I can't wait til they become apart of our family.
