Chapter 5

Ryan's POV
As I finished my shift at the hold up, I went to the Batcave and talked with Luke and Mary.

Ryan: Hey guys. I was wondering if you can help me with looking up some information about the foster system.
Luke: Okay. But why, if you don't mind me asking?
Mary: Yeah. The only way she'll ask that is if..........Wait. Did Sophie said yes?
Ryan: *smiles brightly* yes. She did.
Luke: Really?!
Ryan: Yes!!!!

As soon as I said that, Mary and Luke both gave me a hug.

Mary: I'm so happy for you two Ryan.
Ryan: Thanks Mary.
Luke: Okay. Let's get down to business then. What kind of information do you need help with?
Ryan: Well, I want to see Tony and Sierra and Tiana's file. I know that they'll put runaways on their file.
Luke: On it. *types on the keyboard* I'm sorry for laughing. But putting runaway on Tiana's file is kinda funny. She's 8 months.
Ryan: It is kinda funny. But can we be serious please?
Luke: Of course. Um........It's going to take some time. Just give me a few minutes.

Mary: *grabs Ryan a little far from Luke* so, how did the conversation went?
Ryan: I was on my break. So, I went upstairs to chill with them and she said she wanted to talk to me. So, we walked a little far from them. And she told me that she made her decision and that we should adopt them. I told her that she didn't need to rush it. And she said that when she looks at them, she can't see them with anyone else.
Mary: Awwwww Ryan. I'm so happy for you two. They are great kids. And I see you two being great parents.
Ryan: *smiles* thank you Mary
Luke: I got something guys.

We sped walked to him until he spoke.

Luke: Okay. So here are their files. It says that their parents died in a car accident last year. The date is right there *points at the date* then it says that all three of the siblings are missing.
Ryan: any mention of them being runaways?
Luke: *looks at their file a little more* yeah. They said missing. Then it turned to runaways.
Ryan: And no one came looking for them. Okay. What's going to happen to them if we bring them in and tell them that we want to adopt them?
Luke: I don't know. Do you know someone? What about your ex Parole officer? You think she knows anything about the system?
Ryan: I am not calling her back up again. I already closed that door of my past. I am not doing that again. We can probably ask Jordan if she knows anyone that works in the foster system and we can go from there.
Luke: Okay. What if she doesn't?
Ryan: If she doesn't, then I'll ask mom if she knows anyone.
Luke: and if she don't?
Ryan: She knows almost everyone in Gotham. *sighs* but if she doesn't, I guess I'll give my ex parole officer a call. Let me send Jordan a text.

Ryan: Hey Jordan. You busy tomorrow?
Jordan: Hey and not really. What's up?
Ryan: I want to talk to you about something.
Jordan: I can come right now. Is that okay?
Ryan: We can wait til tomorrow. I don't want you to come all the way over here.
Jordan: want to FaceTime then?
Ryan: Yeah!!! Just give me a few minutes. The signal where I am is pretty messed up.
Jordan: Okay. Will be waiting for your call.

Ryan: Okay, so I'm going to have a FaceTime meeting with Jordan in a few. You two good here right?
Mary: Yeah. Find out from Jordan and come back to us.
Luke: Yeah
Ryan: Will do.

As I'm in the hold up, I immediately FaceTime Jordan.

Jordan: Hey sis!
Ryan: Hey girl! So, I'm coming to you cause I want to ask you something.
Jordan: Yeah. What's up?
Ryan: Do you happen to know anyone that works in the foster system?
Jordan: I don't. But I know someone that works with Child Protective Services.
Ryan: That's even better. Do you have his or her name and number?
Jordan: Yes. You have a pen and paper?
Ryan: hold on!
