Shouto Todoroki observes.
He doesn't say anything about what he obeserved though. Sadly others can't do the same. It was annoying, especially when it came to himself. Shouto was known as a very composed boy, he did whatever he had to, was never left behind and if something came up he caught up with the others fast.
It just took him a tad bit more effort to do everything on time and properly. It wasn't that hard as shouto believed. But he was still curious as to why people thought he was composed. Because he wasn't. The more comfortable he got around people the lesser composed he got. Or he just revealed that he was also human who didn't feel like doing anything but laying down and doing things he'd enjoy.but the thing was...he was never too comfortable with anyone. Not his friends, not his teachers, not even his siblings and definitely not his father, the only person he had sort of gotten comfortable with was his mother. And that was when he was a child.a dumb stupid child with hopes. So... Does that mean the lesser you care about people the more composed you become? He thinks it's like that.
But the deal was, that
'Shouto Todoroki was acting ...well, "not so composed" ' today at school. And midoriya being midoriya had analysed his strange behaviour.and then he kept on checking up on him. Which... As much as he appreciated it, Shouto found it slightly annoying.

He was just stressed out because he just recently started visiting his mother. And as much as he loved her..

He had no idea what to say to her.

He just recently realized how much he prefered talking in letters.
It was easier and he thought before he wrote and he didn't panic when the silence became too unbearable and needed to be interuppted. he could interact whenever he wanted to, he could write what he wanted to say when he wanted to.

You can't do that In real life when your mother that has basically missed out more then half of your life is sitting there just as awkwardly as you, expecting your nonsocial ass to conversate while looking at you with hopeful eyes. Hoping you'd tell her about what she missed so she could atleast get a picture of it, but then again, you can't talk with someone comfortably to save your life especially when that much tension is in the air.

So in short the awkwardness between him and his mother was eating him alive.

Now He wanted to see her. Of course he did. He wanted to talk to her too. But the last time she'd properly known him was when he was 5 or 6, a toddler who actually had the energy to deal with life. So it was a long road before they reached that stop.

So here he was, laying in his dorm room stressing over how the hell he would manage to actually have a proper conversation with his own mom. Wow.

his head was pounding, very slightly. But it was still pounding. He found himself massaging his forehead and stretching his hands, being to lazy to stretch the rest of his body. He puts his hands in his hair at the sides of his scalps and massages his skull aswell. Actually receiving relaxation from the act.
his hands were cold and his forehead was warm, not actually warm, it just felt warm when he used his cold hands to feel his forehead.

It sort of unlocked a childhood memory of his. A good memory. His head still hurt to remember too much but he certainly forgot about his old habit.

Young shouto loved using his quirk to calm his family down. He wasn't exactly using his quirk to get cold hands right now. They just decided to be cold for no reason at all, or maybe his head was warm and when he put his hands in contact with his head they felt cold automatically against the warm temperature.

He remembers using his quirk particularly on the cheeks and forehead when anyone was stressed.

He didn't get to see his siblings much but that didn't stop him from an encounter with his siblings every now and then.
