Jeff the Killer
Thunder strikes.
It's 2 o'clock and you've gotten no sleep yet. Where have the hours gone?
You grab your phone from the counter and check your messages. Nothing. Your heart sinks. A part of you was secretly hoping someone was awake to talk to. Shrugging off your desperate need for a connection, you drag yourself to the kitchen, rubbing your eyes. It was a cold night and the wooden floor made your house significantly colder. You grabbed a glass of water from the counter and took a sip, interrupted by a strange sound in the living room. You blinked repeatedly to adjust your eyesight.
It was a rather large and unrecognizable creature. Its bright yellow eyes turned to you, looking you up and down like a vulture.
You had to run. Now.
But your legs didn't move. Your breath quickened along with your heartbeat. It just stared back. Time stopped until you heard the floor creak. It was approaching you.
Fuck. You had to run. For reals this time.
The creature roared, shaking the whole room and shaking your paralysis. It lunged at you. There was nothing to do? What could you do? You let out a shriek as the inside of its mouths approached you promptly. The last thing you heard was the sound of your own screams.
You sat up from your bed, feeling short of breath. You clutched your chest and took a second to take in your surroundings. You were in your room. In your bed. Despite this, you didn't feel safe. You curled up and clutched your knees, not having a moment to think before you felt a hand on your shoulder.
"Jeff? Oh, thank goodness, Jeff!" You threw yourself at him, hugging him tighter than you've ever hugged anyone before. "I'm so glad you're here," you managed to say in between sobs.
He chuckled and hugged back, tucking his face against your head. "I heard you scream... I was worried I wasn't going to get here in time. Guess it wasn't as serious as I thought... Are you okay?" He let go and grabbed your chin, tilting it to face him. He seemed so delicate in the moonlight and it was clear he was worried about you.
What else could you ask for? You were grateful to have someone that would rush to your aid at the first sign of danger. You felt safe with him.
"I had a nightmare. I couldn't- I was going to-" The words were hard to form and all you wanted was to be held.
He shushed you softly and hugged you again, rubbing your back while you calmed down. "I am here now, wildflower. There's nothing to be scared of anymore."
Slenderman
You'd been tossing and turning for what felt like hours but at last, you were able to fall asleep. This had become a common occurrence in the past few days and you weren't sure why. After spending long hours in bed, you'd sleep, only to be woken up from a nightmare. Tonight was no different. They'd been getting out of hand lately and there was something about the dark imagery that disturbed you even while awake.
You were stuck in a pool of black goop, the strange liquid wrapping around your legs to keep you in place. You squirm and struggle but you're held in place by a pair of hands holding your shoulders from behind. The black void is quiet and the tightness from your shoulders warms you up. There is something behind you. You want to turn around but the idea of what was there was enough to terrify you.
The creature circled around you and there stood... Slenderman?
Unable to read his expression you lifted your hands to touch his face but the sound of ripping flesh stopped you. It was him. His face ripped open to create a mouth, pieces of flesh dangling and stretching. Inside were multiple layers of razor-sharp teeth and a tongue that looked rough to the touch.
