Angel pov
I got ready for the reunion putting on a nice white dress with a flannel cover shirt.
"You ready to slide?" Amari asked me as i got in the car. I gave him a quick kiss and wiped off the lipgloss that was left.
Amari wore a simple fit mainly since he was just going for support.
As we arrived i seen kids running around and some guys cooking on a grill, the whole neighborhood smelt of barbecue.
I heard some whispers as me and Amari walked up to the house holding hands.
Jai met me on the porch taking me around to meet everyone. "Can i have your attention please." Aunt Keara yelled getting everyone's attention.
"come up here." She motioned to me before i slowly walked over to the are area she was standing.
"It seemed not too long ago that Liv made the decision to give you up, we're here to tell you even through all of that we have and will always be your family." She said before hugging me.
Everyone cheered in agreement before breaking off in their own conversations again.
"Ima go get our plates." He said watching everyone get their plates handed to them.
"How you enjoying everything?" Jai asked walking over to my table. "Its a lot of folks, I somewhat feel jealous of yall bonds." I sighed.
"Girl you gone build them same bonds over time." She said and i nodded knowing she was probably right.
"Even if i chose my foster family to adopt me, Ima always be around y'all." I said making her nod.
Amari came back with our plates getting everything he knew i liked.
He was looking around like he was on high alert of his surroundings.
"Whats wrong?" I asked stuffing macaroni in my mouth.
"Some niggas creeping around." He clutched onto his gun that was on his waist.
"You recognize them?" I said in a low whisper. I didn't want to put my family that i'm just meeting in danger just because i want my boyfriend around.
"Fuck no." He scrunched his face up. "Should we tell somebody?" I asked him and he shook his head no. "something we'll definitely pop off and they know we see them, just play it cool." He shrugged eating with a hand on his gun.
Amari was used to being watched and shit, personally i was not.
