Chapter Nine: Downfall From Heaven

I notice Olypious' horrified look and ask her;

"Are you scared of Xavos and being in Heaven?"

"Yes, now that I've helped you all, I should leave right now"

Out of nowhere suddenly, a chariot arrives with three angels in golden armor. They both get out and one of them asks Doniko a question;

"Why did you let these strangers in Heaven? You know you aren't allowed to do that"

Doniko replies back "I know, but these guys killed Omen! Now Hell doesn't have a ruler!"

"You know Xavos won't be happy to hear this, without a ruler for Hell, there's no balance, as he says... Wait is that Olypious?"

I look over to see Olypious attempting to fly away, but one of the angels take out a bow and arrow and proceed to shoot at one of her wings, making her fall to the cloudy ground.

Modesto, Alzo and I step in but we get pushed away by the angels. Alzo gets taken down but Modesto manages to knock out a guard. I'm currently struggling with the third angel but I see Eve running over to Olypious to check her wounds I presume.

The angel I'm fighting hits me and leaves me dazed, even while my vision is dizzy, I can still see the angel I was fighting team up with Alzo's opponent angel and team up on Modesto, I see them slashing their sword at him but I charge in to help him. I manage to use my knife handle to knock one out and Modesto slams the other one to the ground.

We both help Alzo and we run over to Olypious. Eve actually removed the arrow carefully and is tending to her wounds.

"Great, more angels" I hear Alzo say as everyone turns their heads to see a group of angels approach us.

"Sorry guys, I had to call backup..." We hear Doniko say.

Excluding Eve and Olypious, everyone else gets in a fighting stance to get ready, suddenly, we hear a voice from the crowd of angels shout

"Stop! There's no need to keep fighting, Xavos wants to speak to you intruders" we hear as an angel in platinum armor walks out from the group.

I walk forward and say "Oh, so now you want to stop fighting when we kicked your asses?"

"No, consider this mercy, half your team is unable to handle one of us, and with this team of angels, you would've wished you stayed in Hell, but we're sparing you this one chance to live longer and follow us to Xavos' fortress"

The rest and I glance at each other and knowing if we tried to fight, we won't survive so we agree with the angel to follow them to Xavos.

--POV CHANGE--
(Modesto's perspective)

Walking with the angels, I take a moment to view everything in Heaven. Pure looking lakes and rivers, the white trees offering fruit, the clouds in the sky above the already cloudy ground, the peaceful ambience and chirps from birds and other animals, the mysterious towers in the background and around us. For such hostile angels, this place looks beautiful.

While we were walking, I hear some angels talking about something which I can't fully hear. Out of nowhere, Alzo stops and one of the angels notice this.

"What are you doing? Keep moving along or else" the angel threatens him.

"I'm just admiring the view, can't you let someone do that for just a moment?" Alzo replies back.

"I know you heard us" the angel says as he gets his sword out and points it to Alzo's throat.

"And I know what you're planning to do with us"

"What is Alzo talking about?" I whisper to Modesto and he shrugs.

Alzo pushes the angel back and tells us "Xavos is planning to-", unfortunately, he doesn't get that far as an angel leaps up and slashes at Alzo, sending him through the ground and back to Terra. Eve runs over to see if Alzo is falling but an angel stops her. It looks like he's hearing commands from someone, even though the angels around him aren't saying anything, he tells Eve that;

"Sorry, fairy, but you aren't needed for this trip, goodbye" he says as he orders a chariot to take Eve to Terra.

"Wait no, stop!" Eve tries to protest but is shoved into the chariot and the chariot flies away.

I step in and tell them "We're going back to Terra as well, you aren't stopping us"

"Are you sure about that?" The angel says several angels surround me and start slicing me up, leaving cuts everywhere. Luckily I didn't die but I'm still injured and the last thing I see before I collapse is Nyeruu trying to help.

I wake up inside a castle it seems like and I look besides me to find only Nyeruu who looks shaken up.

"Where's Olypious?" I ask her groggily.

"They severed her wings and tossed her from Heaven. They had an angel check her corpse when she hit Terra and confirmed that she's no longer alive"

"Oh my... We need to escape this place and head back to the others, we can avenge Olypious with a plan"

"How?! You always think we can get away with shit so easily, I'm sorry, Modesto, but I think this is the end for us" Nyeruu says with a tear in her eye as I look up and across this castle room, see a throne with a giant sitting atop it.

"Greetings, Modesto, nice of you to to finally notice me, did you have a good nap? Hopefully so, cause you'll need to be refreshed for this upcoming operation-"

--POV CHANGE--
(Alzo's perspective)

"Hello?! Alzo, please wake up!" I hear someone say. Slowly opening my eyes, I see Eve shaking me.

Looking around, I find myself in a crater, then it all comes back to me. I was knocked from Heaven and onto Terra.

"Are you okay!?" Eve asks me.

"Yeah, I'm fine, but how did you get back down here?"

"I was brought here by a chariot after they didn't want me in Heaven, I saw smoke coming from a forest and followed it. I saw you laying down and since then, been trying to wake you up!"

"Ah, well thanks for the effort, Eve, but we need to get back to the others"

"Okay! Do you have any plans?"

"Hmm..." I take a look around the environment, when I realize a sign closeby, I get up and even more memories start coming back to me.

"Alzo...? What's wrong?"

"Riverton facility"

"Huh?"

"There's this government facility that's been keeping me there for decades, which I escaped, but even though I left that laboratory behind, the memories didn't. I was tortured there for years and years, I even lost count, but they're the key to getting back to Heaven"

"How?"

"Just trust me, all you need to do is follow me, and we'll be there in no time"
