With Ben leading the way, we make the trek to Fairy Cottage

When we could see the house we all stopped talking and let Mal and Ben go first.
We all burst into the house. But it was empty

I looked at the books to try find any clues while Jay ran upstairs
"She's not upstairs." Jay ran back down

We stopped when there was a banging on the pantry door. Ben walked over and opened it
"Chad?" Ben asked seeing the boy cowering
"I want my mommy." Chad mumbled
"What happened-- It's okay. What happened, buddy?" Ben asked helping him stand
"Hmm. Ben. Ben! Oh! Your face." Chad gripped onto Bens jacket
I raised an amused brow
"She's gone, huh? The door's open. I'm free. Free! Freedom!" Chad sprinted away

Harry began to laugh not believing that had happened, I giggled too
"Stop laughing. It's not funny" I chuckled
"Yer laughin too Princess" he replied offering a hand
I rolled my eyes and took his hand as we walked out

"Oof, alright, let's get this Audrey chick taken care of already. What do you say, girl? Time to wrap things up?" Uma asked
"You know, someday, you're gonna have to tell me how you guys all got teamed up." Ben chuckled
"Actually, Mal promised to let all the kids off the Isle once this is over." Evie explained
"Mal?" Ben asked

"I have to tell you guys something. Um... I lied to you. The kids won't be coming off the Isle." Mal said
"What do you mean?" I asked letting go of Harry's arm
"The program is shut down. And the barrier will be closed for good. For Auradon's safety." Mal said
I retaliated at that
"Hold up. So we're saving your precious people, and your behinds, for a lie?" Uma asked irritated and Harry groaned holding his hook forward
"I knew it was a mistake to trust you. You're always out for yourself." She spat
"And you, King Benny. You're probably just gonna throw us all back inside, eh?" Harry walked to Ben

"Close the barrier for good?" I asked and she nodded
"I get there's some Villians who deserve to be there. But everyone on that god forsaken island don't believe in evil anymore. They just want normal lives and to not have to worry about finding their next meal or getting new clothes. If you close the barrier forever, what about food and supplies that gets sent over when  the barrier opens and closes? What about us? Our parents? Those kids?" I asked upset

"You know what? I actually thought you were brave, but you're nothing but a chicken. Too scared to tell me I was never gonna see my dad again." Celia said grabbing the ember and tossed it in the bird bath
"Celia. Celia, Celia! No! Celia, no! no! Ugh!" Mal grabbed it back
"Regain your might and ignite! No. Regain your might and ignite!" She tried her magic
"Bummer. Let's go find Gil and leave 'em all to rot." Uma and Harry walked off

"Oh, and Hayden" Celia turned to me
I nodded at the girl
"Mal lied to you even more. She's your half sister. Hades is her father" she said an ran off
My eyes went wide, orange taking over my hair and eyes. I couldn't move

"No. Uh. Uma!" Mal called after the pirates

"Evie. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry, I just... I thought that... I was afraid to tell you, I thought that I was gonna lose my best friend. But I had to do something, I had to... protect Auradon." Mal half sobbed
"Closing the barrier was your idea?" Evie asked tears in her eyes
"I did it for us! I did it for... our life that we have here now." Mal replied
"For our life?! What about the kids that we left behind on that island?! The kids that we promised. We were their only hope. I thought you were gonna stand up for the VKs. But instead you lied to them. And you lied to Jay. And you lied to Carlos, and you lied to Hayden. You lied to me. We're your family." Evie said through tears
"Evie. Evie, come on! I had no choice!" Mal called
"You're my sister?" I asked tears forming even more now
"I- yes" Mal stuttered
"You know, I thought you couldn't sink even lower Mal. You're my sister" I nodded with tears "it's probably great, it is great. But the fact that you lied to me. You lied the last eight years!" I spat
"Is there no limit? The barrier! Now this?" I said angrily
"Hayden, we thought to tell you-" she started
"We?" I asked
I looked behind me and Evie hung her head
"EVIE KNEW AS WELL! BUT NOT ME!" I roared at Mal
"We we're going to tell you, we thought you'd leave" Mal cried
"You thought right" I said coldly
