-INVIERNOMy ponytail swishes left and right as I force my body to push through one more mile, I can feel the sweat sticking my clothes to my skin and my hair slick to my face and my puffer coat swish with every move.
I haven't had any freedom to work out or play sports in a very long time since my father despite it. But now that he has left me alone to fend for myself I could do whatever I wanted, Including running!
Last week was the best time of my life and I owe it all to my father. I'm glad he left. The night of Levi's birthday I got the job at the theaters which means I can keep up with the small bills I had for the house.
I think.
Me and Levi go on dates all the days he doesn't work, I have a whole collection of pictures for that boy.
I tried out for basketball again and I got in because the coach loves me and now I'm back to running without having to do it with classmates.
Living alone, new boyfriend, new job, new team, I could not be happier.
I stop running on the sidewalk near the crowd of people, they just walk around me as I pant with my hands on my knees. Standing to my full height I slick my flyaways back realizing I'm hungry.
I looked around the busy street for options to eat at, nothing but gyms and retail stores for men but I found a little hidden cafe in between a few stores across the street. I continued my run over there and entered the cafe, lots of men came here.
Eyes are all on me as soon as I enter, usually I like attention but these weren't the eyes worth liking. Lol levi would be so freaked out right now, he hates attention.
I walked fast to the register while pulling my coat down so I could cover my you know what. "Hello, how may I help you?" the male cashier says with a sinister smirk.
What have I done?
"Uh.. " I anxiously scan the menu on the board behind him. "Take your time sweetheart." he winks at me.
Ew.
"I'll just take a hot chocolate to go." I whisper above, "you got it!" he says before moving on to the back.
I was starving but I'm not staying in here longer than I need to and running out without ordering anything is going to make me look like a little bitch.
All I know is the choice of clothing is not helping me right now. I sit on the stools beside the cash register and wait patiently.
Looking behind my shoulders all the men here whisper and stare at me, I feel like the losers at school.
"Here you go, sweetheart." The cashier slides over my hot chocolate on the counter, I only nod without a smile, I don't want to thank him even though I should.
