If I could erase the memory that's going to be imbedded into my mind from today, I would. He is gone. I watched Levi's face nearly crumble when Mr.Craig told him that Lino was gone.

As in dead.

"Those friends he was with. They all got shot during a car robbery they were trying to achieve. I'm so sorry, Leviathan." Mr. Craig said.

Levi ran his hand over his face "Hey," I said softly while touching his bicep anticipating his reaction to the news.

He lightly shook me off and without another word he left the room.

Mr. Craig had us in a room to separate the news to the younger kids. I am not sure why I followed him but at the time Mr.Craig asked him for some privacy,

His eyes did the talking. Like he was pleading for moral support.

I hear the front door open and slam. I assume that's him. The pit in my stomach deepens as I looked to my toes.

I have not known Lino for very long but I owed him so much. He's apart of the reason I was out of my Dad's house. He helped me in ways That I'll never get to repay.

Because he's dead.

"Are you a new placement?" Craig asks me. I look up from my feet with the attempt of trying to hide my tears.

That failed. I wiped the tears that stained my cheek. "Um no. I'm just a friend." I sniffled.
"Of Lino's?"

"No, Levi's" I confirmed tucking my short hair behind my ears. "Levi." He repeated.

"When he was eleven , I called him that once. He instantly snapped at me." Craig said. He turned to  me. "Keep him out of trouble. He's a good boy."

"I will." I said.

Mr. Craig nodded and exited the room leaving me alone. I fought back some more tears taking in the fact that Levi's best friend just died.

Then I wiped my face and left the room back into the kitchen. Along with Craig there were a few police men talking with Fuchsia and the kids.

Fuchsia was putting on an obvious act to the police man about how heart broken she was and how Lino was like a son to her.

Upon looking angry and devastated they were also crying. Britannia ran up to me in tears.
I bent stooped to her  height  and hugged her.
