(Y/n POV)

"Oh we've reached the village." I said pulling him. "This is you're first time in a village, right? I asked him as we entered the village. He nodded yes.

Everyone was doing their work. There was hustling and bustling in the village. 'Now where's the clothes shop?' I thought, looking for it while walking, still holding Shu's hand.

"Found it!" I said and pulled him to the shop with me. "Now go and look for your clothes. I'll be right here."

(Shu POV)

"But shouldn't I buy my own clothes?" I asked her. She nodded no. "And besides you don't have money. Even if you did have, I wouldn't have let you." She said smiling. I just sighed and said ok. I went and looked around the shop, while she was standing near the, I guess it's called a shop counter.

I was looking around when my eyes fell on a cloth.

It looked more comfortable than what I was wearing

It looked more comfortable than what I was wearing. It even had a cape and a place to keep my sword. I took it and went to y/n. I showed her the dress and she paid for it. I felt guilty about it but I don't think she would've let me pay even if I did have money.

When we went outside I asked her, "Why did you buy me a dress? I could've just worn what I was wearing." "You're clothes war torn because of me. Yeah you're right about what you are wearing. But take it as a thanks for saving me and becoming my friend." She said and ran ahead, motioning me to catch up. I was about to go to her when a voice said, "Are you her friend?" I turned around and saw an old man. "Yes?" I answered. "Break your friendship with her. You shouldn't stay so close to her. You'll get infected by whatever disease she's caring." He said.

I was about to ask him about it. But an elderly woman came and smacked that mans head with paper. She angrily said, " Don't say such things about that sweet girl. You boy, you don't have to be worried. She's not infected by any disease." "You know she has some disease. That cheerfulness isn't normal. Especially by a girl." He said.

This made me angry. "Just because she's more cheerful and optimistic than an average girl, doesn't mean she's infected by any disease!" I angrily said. They both looked taken back. "You're right. But people don't get it." The old woman said "I'm surprised she's even happy, after everything that's happened with her." I looked at her in confusion.

"Her father died even before she was born. Her mother died when she was only 4." She said. I looked at her shocked. She continued, "She was playing in the forest back then. So she doesn't know how her mother died, like the rest of the village. But I know cause I was there. I went to buy some flowers at her mother's shop. Some royal guards came. I hid there because I didn't want to get in trouble. Then they went and killed her for no reason at all. After they left, I ran away because I got scared, but I was still nearby. When she returned she didn't even know what happened. She thought her was playing statue with her. When she didn't move, She got scared and started to shake her. Then I couldn't take it anymore, so I went to her and hugged her while she cried. After that day she's being ignored by almost everyone in the village. But since she's the most knowledgeable about plants, people need to go to her whenever they need a plant. But what surprises me is that after that day she's never cried. At least I don't see her crying."

I didn't notice tears slowly falling from eyes. I started to wipe them, thinking, 'Why am I crying? Is it because we've had the same kind of childhood? Or it's because she was even younger than me when her mother died? But even with that kind of childhood and being hated she still smiles so much. She's really strong.'

"Boy, please take care of her." The old woman told me, smiling. I nodded yes. Then I started to walk again.

'I'll take care of her no matter what! And I'll never make her cry.' I thought. But then I realized something. 'Where is y/n?!'
