Sizhui reeled back in shock.

"Do you... hate me?" Jin Ling asked him, looking at him with those big eyes of his. "Is it because I don't have parents" A-Yuan, it's not my fault-"

"It's not like that A-Ling." Sizhui cut the other off. "I don't hate you."

"Then do you like me?" The other asked, hope shining in his eyes, his expression childlike and hopeful.

Sizhui couldn't say no, and there were numerous reasons why. First was Jin Ling's face. Second was Jin Ling's voice. Third was Jin Ling's mere presence. And fourth was that lying was prohibited in Cloud Recesses.

"Yes," Sizhui didn't look at the other boy as he said that, and his voice was just a whisper. "But I don't just like you, A-Ling. I... I love you."

There was silence in the Library Pavilion for a few minutes after that. No one and nothing moved or made any noise, the only two being in the room either staring at the floor, or staring at the other.

Then, Jin Ling moved. He slowly tilted his head upwards, so that his face was inches away from Sizhui's. Almost as if experimenting, he leaned forward and kissed the other.

Sizhui's eyes went wide. His heart was beating so fast he could have had a heart attack. His arms fell away from Jin Ling, as his brain tried to process what was happening.

A-Ling is kissing me. Jin Ling. Jin Rulan. Young Master Jin. The boy I like. My precious A-Ling.

Sizhui slowly closed his eyes then, wrapping his arms around Jin Ling again, this time even tighter. He kissed him back very, very softly, before pulling away and resting his head against Jin Ling's.

"My precious A-Ling." He whispered.

Jin Ling blushed and giggled, looking at Sizhui through his lashes.

"You can call me that." He said. "But don't call me 'Young Master Jin'. It makes it sound like we're just acquaintances. I don't want to be just an acquaintance to you."

"Then what do you want us to be?"

"...Lovers. You love me, and I love you. There should be no problem. Right, A-Yuan?"

Sizhui nodded. "No problem at all."

They stayed there for some while. Then, suddenly, Jin Ling yawned.

Finally! Sizhui thought. Though the damage is done. However, it's a good damage.

"Are you sleepy, A-Ling?" He asked the other boy. "Let me get you back to your room."

Jin Ling surprisingly made no protests whatsoever to this, obediently letting himself get hoisted up into a standing position.

Sizhui took his arm and placed it around his shoulder, allowing the other to put a great fraction of his weight on him, which he gladly did.

Sizhui opened the door and, after checking to see if the coast was clear, stepped out of the Library Pavilion. There ought to be some seniors nearby on patrol, so he would have to be careful.

They very carefully made their way to the Jin sect's disciples' area. Everything went well, right up to the point when they were almost there. There was a senior walking towards them. Sizhui immediately ducked behind a wall, pulling Jin Ling with him. He waited with baited breath.

Cloud Recesses always taught its disciples to never attack without warning, so if the senior had seen them, he would surely call out to them.

When he heard nothing for a good couple of seconds, Sizhui relaxed. The senior went away, not remotely suspecting anything.

They tip-toed across a courtyard, and then they were right in front of Jin Ling's room. Pushing open the door, Sizhui helped Jin Ling step over the threshold. He shut the door the best he could with one hand.

Turning around, he spotted Jin Ling's bed.

"Here we are, A-Yuan." He whispered to the other boy, leading him towards the bed.

As Sizhui made him sit him on it, Jin Ling spoke. "Will you leave now?"

He was looking at Sizhui with the same expression he had while asking the other if he hated him. Sizhui wanted to comply immediately, just to see the boy smile. But he couldn't, and they both knew that.

"Yes, I have to, A-Yuan." Sizhui whispered. "But I promise you, I'll come see you early tomorrow morning. I'll be the first person you see, okay?"

The thought seemed to cheer Jin Ling up, and the other nodded eagerly. He let himself get coddled and fussed about, watching as Sizhui removed his shoes and made him lay down, before covering him with a blanket.

"A-Yuan, before you go, can you tell me you love me one more time?" Jin Ling said. Seeing the other was about to decline, he added, "It'll help me sleep nicely."

Sizhui chuckled.

"Alright, listen carefully. I love you, my precious A-Ling." He said, whispering as if he were telling the other a secret.

Jin Ling seemed satisfied. Sizhui pushed some hair out of the other's eyes, and ensured that Jin Ling's eyes were closed before he left the room.

[A/N: I earlier thought I would do only two parts, but now I think imma do three. I want a confrontation the next morning.]
