The next morning, Jin Ling woke up with a splitting head ache.

By the time he had managed to sit up on his bed, he was barely holding in whimpers from the pain. He reached out for his bedside table, his fingers wrapping around the jug of water that stood on it. He drank some of it, and his headache eased a little bit.

Just as he was starting to wonder why his head was pounding so bad, a knock sounded on his door.

"Come in." He tried to make his voice as steady as possible.

The door opened, and Lan Sizhui stepped in. Jin Ling immediately straightened up, wondering whether his hair looked fine or not.

Lan Sizhui smiled at him, shutting the door behind him. He was carrying a jar with a glass on a tray.

"Good morning." He said.

Jin Ling loved Sizhui with all his heart, but right then he wished the other wasn't there. He didn't want to look like an ill vomiting being in front of Sizhui.

Sizhui set the tray down on the bedside table, then sat down beside Jin Ling. This took the latter by surprise. Wasn't Sizhui known for his courteousness and politeness? He didn't mind the action, he was just surprised. Sizhui seemed to notice that something was off.

"What is it, my precious A-Ling?" Sizhui's voice and expression were filled with concern.

Jin Ling's eyes widened. His heart started beating faster, and blood rushed to his face.

"M-my precious A-Ling?!" He echoed back, stuttering in surprise.

"Well," Sizhui looked down at the floor. "You seemed to like it when I called you that last night."

"Last night?" Jin Ling repeated.

"You... don't remember?"

Then, his mind went on rewind. In one minute, he remembered all that had happened the previous night. The next minute, his face had crossed all colors from the color pallet.

"A-Ling... I mean, Young Master Jin, don't you remember anything?" Sizhui asked him.

Jin Ling couldn't meet his eyes anymore. How dare he, Jin Ling, kiss Sizhui while he was drunk?! Yet, something took over him, and he spoke, his eyes still at the floor.

"Didn't I tell you, you can't call me 'Young Master Jin' from now?" His voice wasn't harsh like he had intended it to be, it was rather shy and meek, and if Jiang Cheng had heard him, he would have gotten a good beating.

"So you do remember!" Sizhui hugged him. "I was scared that I would have to remind you. I love you, A-Ling, but that would have been very awkward."

Jin Ling slowly hugged him back, burying his face in the other's shoulder. He was still blushing. Sizhui pulled away from the hug, then tucked a strand of wild hair behind the other's ear.

"A-Ling, my precious A-Ling. I love you." Sizhui said, looking deep into Jin Ling's eyes. "I've wanted to tell you that for such long time, but I always had to keep my emotions I check. Now that I can say it, I want to tell you how much I love you every minute."

"You can," Jin Ling said, smiling. "I love you, too, A-Yuan. And I know how you feel. I'm so... happy. I never thought I would say this to someone. But I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

Sizhui smiled, then leaned forward and kissed him. Jin Ling blushed a little, remembering the previous night when he had kissed Sizhui so boldly. He raised his hands to cup Sizhui's face and kissed him back.

When Sizhui pulled away, he reached across Jin Ling and picked up the tray. Pouring the contents of the jar into the glass, he handed the glass to Jin Ling before setting the tray back down.

"I asked Senior Wei for some hangover remedies, and he gave me this." Sizhui explained. "It should help a little with your headache."

Jin Ling took the glass from him happily. No one had taken care of him like that. Jiang Cheng loved him, and he knew that, but the man was strict and unbending, and barely showed his love. But as Jin Ling drank the liquid down, he choked at its bitter taste, and Sizhui had to pat him on the back to help him swallow.

Finished, Jin Ling let his hand go limp and leaned against Sizhui's side, resting his head on the other's shoulder. Sizhui responded gladly, wrapping his arms around Jin Ling's shoulder. They sat like that for quite a while, both contented beyond measure.

"A-Yuan, don't you have classes?" Jin Ling asked after a while.

"I'm skipping today; there's nothing more important than you." Sizhui replied.

Jin Ling blushed again. "But wouldn't Sect Leader Lan be angry?"

"A-Ling, stop worrying. I'll make something up."

"Ooh, is Lan Sizhui going to lie?" Jin Ling teased.

"I'll do it for you." Was the subtle reply.

They both laughed.

Three hours later

Lan Jingyi sneaked into the Library Pavilion. All students were at classes, and most of his seniors had gone to the nearby village for a special case of corpse poisoning. It was the perfect opportunity for taking his Emperor's smile back to his room.

However, even before he was within 10 feet of his drawer, he knew something was wrong. The smell of the alcohol was too strong. He hurried up, running to the drawer, only to find it wide open, with the jar lying on the floor. He picked it up and shook it twice, his eyes widening in horror.

"My alcohol!!"
