Chapter 8

Simmons woke up early the next morning climbing out of the bed and staring at the alarm clock "6:00 am this is way too early" Simmons mumbled to himself heading into the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day leaving Marrow with Grif and Spice he closed the door turning the shower on and stripping down from his night clothes and getting in the shower he finally had time to himself to think "Were dating now its official I could of sworn he said he loved me before I fell asleep but maybe I was just hearing things- He is so sweet I know I love him but it's complicated obviously" after cleaning his hair and body Simmons stepped out of the shower turning it off and getting dressed going to brush his teeth but he stopped staring himself in the mirror his wet hair sticking to the back of his neck man he needed a haircut he grabbed an elastic putting his hair up before staring at his face his freckles were more prominent than ever most likely because he had been in the sun so much recently he grabbed out his toothbrush from behind the mirror and began to brush his teeth Cinnamon toothpaste he was never a fan but it was growing on him he began to wonder if this was what Grif tasted like how would his lips taste if they kissed Grif always smelled like salt water sand and chocolate Simmons never understood why but he never complained the smell had grown to be comforting to him Simmons stared at his stomach he was never fond of how he looked and he had gained a bit of weight so he decided to go on a walk putting his shirt on and going to write a note to let Grif know where he was going he grabbed a pen and paper quickly writing a small note

Hey Dex,

I decided to go on a walk. I didn't want to wake you, chances are i'll be back before you wake up but just in case i'm leaving this note.

When he was ready to go he pulled on his shoes and headed outside, beginning to walk down the street soon meeting up with Wash who was out jogging "Hey Simmons what are you doing out so early?" Wash asked the taller male "I've gained some weight so I decided to go on a walk to try and exercise" Simmons nods "Does Grif know you're out?" Wash asked running a hand through his hair "I left a note he was still asleep" Simmons fidgeted with his long sleeves "Were in Hawaii and you're wearing a sweatshirt you good?" Wash asked eyeing him suspiciously "I have poor circulation so i'm always cold Sarge messed something up during the Surgery as well so it got even worse" Wash nodded "That makes some sense well we were talking longer than I thought you should head back before Grif begins to get worried" Wash smiled "Will do I'll see you tomorrow" Simmons waved goodbye and headed back to his new home
