Grif managed to wake up before Simmons he only knew this because there was still a tight grip on his torso "Love it's time to wake up" Grif shook Simmons slightly "5 more minutes" The red head whined "Your turning into me come on we're going to be late and Sarge won't be happy" That got Simmons up quickly "Wh-WHat!" Simmons looked Panicked "Hey were fine put your shoes on and we will leave" Grif held his boyfriends hand making him slowly calm down Simmons stood up heading into the bathroom to fix his hair once he was out of sight Grif grabbed the small box placing it in his pocket he wanted it to be perfect when everyone was there "God I hope he says yes" Grif went to pull on his shoes once Simmons finally left the bathroom following suit and putting his shoes on pulling on a sweater "Are you cold?" Grif laughed Simmons nodded crossing his arms "oh don't pout lets go" Grif took Simmons hand and left to head to the restaurant they were meeting at "Wash is paying and they have your vegetarian stuff so don't worry" Grif smiled walking Simmons nodded as they finally arrived "About time we thought you ditch out on us" Tucker laughed Simmons rubbed the back of his neck embarrassed "Sorry we fell asleep" Grif pat his boyfriend's shoulder Donut gave Grif a knowing glance were Grif just responded with a pat of his pocket which did not go unnoticed by Tucker who pulled him aside "Is tonight the night?" Tucker looked incredibly excited "Yeah- well if everything goes right you know how Sarge is-" Tucker cut him off "I will not let him ruin this for you! now let's go" Tucker grinned heading inside with the others Simmons caught up with his boyfriend "What was that about?" "Hmm?" "That conversation" "Mm nothing" "okay?" Simmons was beginning to get suspicious this wasn't good they both heading inside and sat beside each other at the long table they were sitting at their group was so big it was really two tables pushed together but they made it work once they all got their drinks things began to get interesting Grif began fidgeting and Tucker + Donut kept giving him side glances which Grif returned with a glare he wanted it to be perfect they should wait a bit longer so exactly when the clock hit 6:30 Grif got out of his seat "What are you doing" Simmons raised his eyebrow but froze up when Grif got on his knee pulling out a box "Look Simmons I know we haven't been dating for long but I nearly lost you a few months ago and I be damned if I let you die before I get the chance to ask you so- Will you marry me-" "Yes!" Simmons covered his mouth quickly Grif smiled brighter than any of them had ever seen and placed the ring on Simmons finger pulling him up and kissing him.Things just got a lot better.
