When both woke up they set out to the west, on the way Lan Zhan and Qin Ling met a merchant group, they're travelling with camels to the same direction as them thus went together on the journey.
Once they almost reached the nearest town where an oasis lies, bandits attacked them out of nowhere, Lan Zhan and Qi Ling whose faces were hidden fought back using physical strength, the merchants that came with them ran away with fear.
With a swish of Lan Zhan's sword their leader was injured, he wanted to fight back but his qi was suddenly exhausted with no reasons, kneeling on the ground while his left hand holding the injured right arm, Qi Ling spoke up. "How long have you been a bandit?"
The bandit leader only looked at the man wearing a mask with anger and a hint of hatred, Lan Zhan was the next to speak up, "Bandits are unusual in this area Qi Ling, let's go to the nearest village/town first"
But this time the bandit spoke up with pure hatred, "If the village didn't have an evil spirit that we have to go away from our land. How would we become bandits?"

Soon, there are men in black there are about 100 of them and started attacking the both, Qi Ling who couldn't use his powers so as to not alert some people used a normal sword and fought with Lan Zhan, both are fighting together until a man in white arrived, he was the number 1 swordsman in Song, Zhao Qingfeng.

Helping them to fight the 100 skilled swordsman they advanced together, but Zhao Qingfeng didn't kill one of them to report to their mastermind, their Chief.

That's right, she was brought to Yinghua, Wei Wuxian was the masked man that saved the lady, he took off her mask and brought the lady in the vacant room. The lady gave birth and it was a girl. Seeing that she was about to die, she took off a jade pendant on her waist and placed it on the baby, she the said, "You'll be named Qiutian. Take care of her for me" After that the lady passed away.

Soon Lan Zhan suggested going back to the place where he met that same man, Qi Ling who was interested on what kind of place it is went with him, they travelled with horses and saved people along the way that thanked them with a meal. The two travelled for 2 months and reached the capital of Wei, and went to that same place...
As soon as they were at the entrance he saw Yin Chen a child and another man in black and red in the garden. Qi Ling shed tears seeing the person he wanted to see the most but Lan Zhan was frozen on spot. Yin Chen who was cultivating felt a familiar presence and opened his eyes, seeing his disciple he was more than happy. Immediately used his powers to go near that person.
Both broke down to tears while the other two people are in their world, staring at each other as the breeze came and go. Hair going along with the wind, eyes sparkling and hearts beating. But this was soon broken by a cry of a baby, Yin Chen and Qi Ling both looked back while wiping their tears, Lan Zhan looked at the same direction...
Wei Ying immediately ran to the girl that fell, her knee was injured, he called Yin Chen to heal and Yin Chen did but got a glare by Qi Ling.
Qi Ling then went away from his Wang Jue that he missed for 5 long years and went to Lan Zhan he said, "Lan Zhan, thank you for taking me to him"
Wei Ying's sharp ears heard it, 'LAN ZHAN' normally Lan Zhan wouldn't let others call his name like that, they seemed close. His heart felt clenching but hid it, soon he took care of Qiutian as Yin Chen, Qi Ling and Lan Zhan are having tea but it was mostly Yin Chen and Qi Ling talking and Lan Zhan listening.
Lan Zhan who wasn't paying attention to anything and was deep in thought, 'Why was there a little girl? Who was Qiutian? Where did she come fro? Why does my heart feel hurt when I see Yin Chen, Qiutian and Yin Chen together?'
Yin Chen who was overjoyed to see his disciple blabbering about the things that happened when he was gone especially when he defeated the silver priests smiled, Wei Ying who saw it remembered a certain person that always smiled to him, but once he looked at that person he was in deep thoughts and his mind was wandering off somewhere else.
