Arthit wakes up with a smile on his face. He's not a morning person but today, he's feeling warmth all over him. It feels so refreshing, it's like he's finally free. It's like the next days of his life will be perfect and nothing can change that.
He and Kongpob stayed in the hotel room the whole night– talking about their future trips and school, stealing chaste kisses, stealing glances and chuckling at each other when they caught each other's eyes, talking about Kongpob's love for literature and Arthit's love for music, and everything they haven't done in the past but can finally do so since they're together– hands shyly holding and touching as they sit up on the bed with backs leaning on the headboard.
They relished the moment they're finally together and didn't have to skirt around each other.
Kongpob wakes up a few seconds later. He too has a smile on his face.
"Good morning P'."
"Good morning."
Arthit smiles when Kongpob softly kisses his cheek. They hug for a while before smiling again at each other. They probably look disgustingly in love and crazy from an outside point of view but Arthit doesn't mind.
He doesn't know when they'll move on from this giddy feeling they have or if they ever want to move on. But again, Arthit doesn't mind.
This isn't the first time Arthit has felt. He feels the same way when he and Namtan got together, although it's a bit different this time with the younger since they've been pretending to have feelings for the public.
Now, they need to pretend that nothing changes with their relationship. That there's no shift. That they weren't pretending and fell for real somewhere along the way. They need to act that everything has been constant since the very start especially since people are way too observant and suspicious.
They need to stop radiating too much happiness.
But it's been a failure the second Kongpob's parents see them who both said nothing but gave them congratulatory smiles.
And of course, there are also Arthit's friends. As soon as they see Arthit entering the room with a wide smile on his face when yesterday he looked like someone told him pink milk is phased out, they know something is up.
There are no cheers from his other classmates anymore when Arthit comes in although it's more apt this time because Arthit feels victorious today.
His friends, as usual, are all gathered around his seat. Arthit sits down and innocently looks up at them, wide smile still etched but slightly teasing.
"Something happened," Knot accuses, eyes squinting.
Arthit shrugs.
Prem moves closer. "You two are dating now. For real."
Arthit nods, smiling wider. He can only make gestures and facial expressions, scared that his voice will crack because of too much happiness.
"I knew it!" Tutah cheers. "Tabloids speculated though that Kyle and Kongpob were too friendly last night. They were seen leaving together and not coming back. Don't worry, no one believed that."
Arthit rolls his eyes. He clears his throat. He has to say something about that. "They did leave together but it was because Chailangka wanted Kongpob's help, nothing more. And the reason why Kongpob never came back to the party was that we stayed in our room all night."
