"Why do you look sad?"
Kongpob asks, slightly leaning forward to get a good look at the older's now sullen face. Currently, they are eating the cake the younger baked for the older.
To be more precise, Kongpob is eating and Arthit is picking his food. It's obvious to Kongpob something is bugging Arthit's mind.
Arthit places down his fork on the plate and leans back on his seat. "I am not sad."
"You are. Since you arrived earlier, I can see it in your eyes."
"Well, to be honest, I really don't want to live here, no offense meant Kongpob but your home isn't just the same for me. I'd rather live with my friends than here."
Kongpob smiles. "None taken, we just met like three days ago, I understand. I was actually surprised as well when Mae told me you'll be living here from now on. It's not necessary anymore since we can just go out once in a while to make people believe how happy we are in our relationship."
"I know, that's what I was trying to tell Mae but she wasn't listening."
"So, why don't you rebel and live with your friends instead? You do know you have that option, right? I can cover for you, I'll tell them you are living here but you're actually living with your friends."
Arthit sadly smiles. "You don't know my parents, they probably installed a hidden camera just to make sure I really follow them. Plus, this is for our company."
"Ah yeah, the company," Kongpob chuckles to himself. "Our families are so obsessed with those companies, they tend to forget their so-called heirs have feelings too."
"Yeah."
Kongpob smiles at Arthit's lack of enthusiasm. "You know P', you're such a rule lover, once in a while, you should learn to break the rules and just enjoy your life. Do something for yourself, you deserve that."
"I'm afraid they will look for a more deserving heir if I did that."
"That's not true. I enjoy my life while still being the heir. I go to clubs every night, have fun with different people almost every week, I tarnish our family name, been called a disgrace to our family because of my sexuality."
"But did that stop me from enjoying my life? They don't have the say what I do in my life, but still, I'm the heir because they have no other choice just like they don't have with you. They can't find anyone who's more suitable as you are to be their heir. You are perfect P'."
"Your family isn't the same as mine. One small mistake and I'd be thrown away."
Kongpob loses his encouraging smile and is replaced by a sad smile. "Sorry P', I didn't know."
"Don't be. It makes me feel more unlucky with my life."
"Sorry," Kongpob awkwardly smiles. "... That I said sorry and again for saying sorry and again... and you get it. I'm sorry. Damn it! I can't stop saying sorry, it's a never-ending sorry."
"You're forgiven."
Silence has taken over the two until, Kongpob, who is not very fond of awkward silence tilts his head.
"You know what I'm curious about, why did your family suddenly want you to live here? And the funnier thing is, why did my family let you in? You're still the heir of our enemy, aren't you?"
"Yeah, so what?"
"Aren't you going to spy on us?"
Arthit grits his teeth. He doesn't like lying but it's never his intention to spy on the Suthilaks. It's for the company. "I'm not like that."
