I'm soooooooo sorry for the seriously long wait! I'm gonna try to make this chapter super long and bring in the super sexy Seto Kaiba to make up for it! Also if anyone has any suggestions for me I'm open to your thoughts!

Melinda's father sat down the papers he was just looking over to give his daughter his full attention. Her mother gestured to the chair in front of the desk,
"Oh course dear what is it?" Amelia asked.
Preferring to stand Melinda jumped straight to the point,
"I want to move back to Domino City. California has nothing here for me, I can't make a life for myself". Her heart was pounding so hard she was afraid she wouldn't be able to hear her parents when they finally found their voices. Her father found his first, his voice flat and even, although Melinda was certain she could hear a bit of underlying sadness to it.
"Mel we moved here to give you a life not take anything away. You weren't happy in Japan, you got beat up every day, you had no friends" Mr Rose stood up and walked around the front of his desk to stand in front of his daughter. Melinda started to feel herself waver. She thought she might have to listen to this from her mother, after all wasnt it usually the mothers who found it harder to let their daughters go? Harder to admit that their children no longer needed them or depended on them to survive? But no matter what Melinda had to stay strong, this is what she truly wanted, truly needed.
"Look at everything that has happened to you since we moved here" her father continued on. "You became a champion in that game you play, you made friends in school-" Melinda cut him off short, interjecting his pointless speech.
"The friends i made in school were nothing more than school friends Dad. How many of them visited after school? How many of them have kept in touch since graduation? I know both of you think that moving here was what we needed, and maybe for you it was, but it hasn't been for me". Melinda looked her mother in the eyes, knowing it would be through her that she would be able to get through to her dad.
"I did have a friend in Domino, his name was Seto remember? He helped me stop the bullies. And not a single day has gone by that I miss him. I need to go back to Domino Mom, and not just for him but for myself as well. I can't survive with you two giving me everything for the rest of my life. At some point I need to go out on my own and make a life for myself!" Amelia had tears in her eyes but before she could say anything her husband beat her to the punch.
"If you meant so much to this boy then why has he never called you or written to you? I'll tell you why because he was nothing more than some childhood friend whom you will never see again! Melinda I care way to much about you than to just let you move hundreds of miles away for some boy!" Adam was angry now, he was yelling at his daughter. hadn't he been listening at all? It wasnt just for Seto, even if that was the big reason, this was for herself as well. She could attend Tokyo University, finally figure out what it is she wants to do with her life. Why couldnt her father understand that this life, here in California, was only good for him and her mom? Fighting back the angry tears that threatened to fall at any second Melinda looked her father in the eyes, refusing to back down.
"I don't know why, he might have lost our address or any number of reasons. I know he was adopted, that's why my letters started getting sent back from the orphanage. What I do know father, is that he meant more to me than anything in this world. And while i would have liked your blessing, I do not need your permission to leave. I'm of legal age to leave this house, and with my tournament winnings I have more than enough money to move to Japan and find a small apartment for myself". Melinda walked over to her mom, who was now silently sobbing.
