When Kai and Zane go out and talk with people they meet in the city, they are often asked how they met. Kai usually chuckles a bit whenever this happens and turns his head to look at Zane, who will usually be blushing a deep red and looking the other way. That's when Kai begins to tell the whole story, start to finish, with a big, cheeky grin on his face.

Kai leaned on the counter as he bid the last customer a good day, giving them his best smile as they walked away. Then, as soon as the customer turned around, his smile dropped into the bored expression he wore while stocking shelves.
Eventually, he heard the clunking of groceries hitting the conveyor belt, and he let out a deep breath as he put on a bright smile for the next one, picking up the first can of baked beans to scan.
It was the usual routine, scan the items, make small talk as he waited for the receipt to print, see them on their way with a smile and the occasional wave, then wait for the next customer. He sighed again, leaning on the counter and staring into space. He watched customers shop around, picking things off of shelves and staring at the brand or the price before either putting it back or putting it in their carts.
He hears another customer put their items on the conveyor, and he turns to grab them, picking up just a few packs of ramen noodles and a Monster energy drink. He scans the first pack of ramen noodles as he instinctively looks up to greet the customer, and what he sees stops him dead in his tracks.
Why did he stop dead you might ask? He stopped dead because standing in front of him was the most gorgeous man he'd ever laid eyes on in his life. He was tall, probably about six-foot, with pure white hair, pale skin, and absolutely breath-taking blue eyes that looked like they were speckled with snow when the light hit them.
Kai didn't realize he was totally gawking at this guy until he looked up, blue eyes making contact with his bright amber ones.
He flinched a little and turned his head down to the groceries, rushing through the Monster and the two other packs of ramen, until he came to the last one."Weird, this one doesn't have a price tag."
He said, and the blue-eyed guy stared at him, perplexed. They stared at each other awkwardly for a few seconds before he smiled a bit and opened his mouth to speak."Well, if there's no price tag that means it's free, right?" The guy replied, a light chuckle escaping his lips as he arched a perfect eyebrow at Kai.
Kai also arched an (also perfect, as he likes to think) eyebrow, a smile also playing on his lips as an answer popped up in his head and immediately left his mouth.
"Well, there's no price tag on you, does that mean you're free later?"
