She sat patiently, waiting at the estate for her soon-to-be husband, for she was told to wait there. Amane was informed that she was chosen to be the wife of the future head of the demon slayer corps, specifically selected by a priest, to attend to his medical needs.

Of course, she had many thoughts about it. But none of them being negative, she was just curious about why it was her who was selected. There were other ladies out there, so out of all of them. Why her? She had found herself asking the question after she was informed. But quickly shooed those thoughts away, surely she must've been selected for a reason. If not, then she wouldn't be here.

The seventeen-year-old was snapped out of her thoughts when the door slid open. Looking in the direction of the door, she saw a male. Someone around thirteen years old she had guessed. He had above shoulder-length hair and a passive and soft smile on his face, though his eyes were a rather different color. He was undeniably handsome, she had thought, staring at him with her lavender eyes. Before looking away, she wouldn't want her future husband's first impression of her to be a creep.

Quickly standing up, she went to greet him before he waved his hand to dismiss it. "Please, stay seated. I'd rather greet you while you are sitting down." Obliging, she went back to her sitting spot. Waiting for him to sit down. When he had, he began to introduce himself. "As you already know. My name is Ubuyashiki Kagaya. Your future spouse." Her future spouse, now known as Kagaya, had a gentle smile on his face as he introduced himself. "It's a pleasure to meet you Ubuyashiki-san, I'm Himorogi Amane." She had her hands folded on her lap when she said this.

"Please, just Kagaya. No formalities, if we're going to be with each other for a while. Might as well get comfortable, no?" Amane opened her mouth, before hesitating. Calling someone by their first name was a big deal after all... it meant that the person trusted you a lot. Before testing the name out. "If you say so... Kagaya." The name rolled out of her tongue, and she liked the sound of it.

"Amane..." He started. "Are you sure about your choice of marrying me though? I may not be the ideal husband you were looking for... with my illness and all". Kagaya spoke out his worries, looking at Amane with calm eyes, but internally his stomach was churning with anticipation.

"I'm sure of my choice, I wouldn't be here If I had declined." Her voice was unwavering, and if you could hear a little bit more. A tint of confidence would be heard. Hearing her answer, Kagaya smiled. "I'm glad you decided to accept the offer, but may I ask a question...did you do it out of your own will? I wouldn't like forcing you into something you wouldn't like, caring for me is quite a hassle after all." He added a chuckle, to lighten up the mood a bit. Amane only shook her head. "No, it's alright. I agreed after all, and out of my own free will."

"Alright alright... but promise me you'll care for me out of your own free will. Not because you are supposed to." He told her, to be honest. Kagaya wanted a partner who cared for him out of their own free will, not because they are supposed to. He didn't want to force them on anything.

"I promise."

As they chatted, she found herself remembering the small things he loved, for what reason, that she didn't know. But she did know that this was the start of something wonderful. Guess meeting him wasn't so bad after all...
