Drake P0V
Some secrets need to be kept
Some stories should never be told
Some reasons shouldn't be understood
They just might turn your blood cold
Who needs all the answers?
Who takes all the chances?
Who said the truth's gonna save you?
When the truth can be dangerous
3 Am hit before I finally turned around on my bike and decided to go home .The ride was long and treacherous and finally the shortcut came into a view. Turning into the dark alley, my bike whizzes past the old unused doors and crooked balconies, but something stops me almost at the end. Sitting tight to the wall is the body of a girl, curled up with torn clothes, blood all over her. Going closer, her face comes into view and my whole world crashes around me. Picking her, I put her in front of me on the bike, and rush home. The drive takes on 20 minutes, and I pick her up, running into the apartment. Setting her on the bed, her eyelids flutter open and she looks at me, her eyes filled with pain.
“Alex, can you hear me?” She nods slightly. Her lip trembles.
“No hospitals, no police... Please..” Her voice comes out as a whisper, barely heard, but as she says it , her eyes fall back shut and her face relaxes. Grabbing a cloth, I wash her arms and face off, revealing tons of scratches and cuts. Her face and arms all different shades of red and purple, some bruises almost black. Grabbing water, I place it beside the bed on the nightstand and lean against the bed, sitting on the floor and closing my eyes.
The sound of shuffling wakes me up and as I open my eyes, I see Alex slowly using the wall to walk out of the room.
“Alex.” Her body stiffens as she turns to look at me.
“Drake... I have to go...” Her voice still comes out as a whisper as she bites her lip again.
“Alex, I found you bloody and bruised, sleeping in an alley, what the fuck is going on?” She flinches as I stand and slowly make my way to her side. She cowers away from me, and steps back out of the room.
“Nothing is going on. Don’t worry about anything.” She tilts her chin defiantly, and I sigh, knowing I won’t get anymore answers out of her about it.
“At least stay for a little while so I know you’re okay.” She bites her lips hesitantly, and shakes her head.
“I need to get something from my house.” Turning my head curiously, her eyebrows furrow and she looks down.
“What is it?” She looks at me straight in the eye, her eyes turning hard.
“I need my drugs.” Her answer shocks me and I have to fight the anger inside of me.
“You don’t need that shit.”
“Drake, you know NOTHING about me, but if you want me to stay here for any amount of time, I need my drugs, and my alcohol. Don’t worry, I’ll leave the apartment to do them, but I need them. If you don’t like that it, or can’t accept it, I’ll go back home.” Glaring at her and turning to walk back into my room, I take my cell phone out and dial my ex’s girlfriends number. On the fourth ring she picks up.
“What do you want Drake?” Her voice comes out slurred, just like it always has when she’s been drinking.
“You know those favors you owe me?” She snorts but continues to listen.
“Well, I need heroine, a decent amount. And...” I look at Alex and ask her what kind of drugs she does. Her answer causes my fists to clench.
“I also need meth, coke, some pot, and a couple 26’ers of crown royal, and the paraphernalia . Do that, And I’ll call us even, Sound fair?” She quickly agrees and not even 20 minutes later, I hear the door bell ring, her bringing in a duffel bag of stuff before quickly leaving. I tell Alex to just use the apartment. Alex quickly gets to work, cutting the coke and snorting it, along with starting the meth and coke. I leave the room before watching the meth and coke. The sight of her taking those drugs in causing an intense amount of anger to course through my veins; but it’s going to be the only way for her to stay here.
Going back in the room, I watch her take a shot of the crown royal and she holds it up, beckoning me forward. Sitting down beside her, I take a shot and look at how calm she actually looks, as if her whole world faded away. Shot by shot, we continued to drink in silence before I couldn’t take it anymore.
“Tell me something about you, Alex. Anything, no matter how small or big.” She turns to me and her eyes search mine, looking for a hidden meaning. She sighs and smirks.
“I want a cigarette right now.” I laugh at her unexpected answer and reach into my pocket, pulling out a pack and offering her one. Lighting it up, I don’t expect another answer but she surprises me when she answers, her voice barely audible.
“I hate my parents.” Shocked, I look at her and ask why. She shrugs and just simply replies.
“They didn’t want me when I was little, they left me with my step dad.”
“Where are they?” She takes a drag of her smoke before answering.
“The day the decided to leave me, they died in a car crash while running away together.” Her voice takes on a harsh tone, and her eyes shine with unshed tears.
The mystery around Alex only continuing to grow...
