Alex P0V
When sadness fills your heart
And sorrow hides the longing to be free
When things go wrong each day
You fix your mind to escape your misery
Your troubled young life
Had made you turn
To a needle of death
One grain of pure white snow
Dissolved in blood spread quickly to your brain
In peace your mind withdraws
Your death so near your soul can't feel no pain
“Tell me something about you, Alex. Anything, no matter how small or big.” He turns to me and his eyes search mine, waiting for an answer. Sighing, I smirk.
“I want a cigarette right now.” He laughs at my unexpected answer and reaches into his pocket, pulling out a pack and offering me one. Lighting it up, I don’t expect to give another answer but I do, and my voice comes out barely audible.
“I hate my parents.” Shocked, he looks at me and asks why.
“They didn’t want me when I was little, they left me with my step dad.”
“Where are they?” I take a drag of the smoke before answering.
“The day the decided to leave me, they died in a car crash while running away together.” Tears fill my eyes as I remember the hatred I have for them... They left me with that monster. Laying my head back, I slowly feel numbness spreading through me, and then sleep overcomes me.
The sound of knocking wakes me up, and I open my eyes to see the drugs still on the table, alcohol all over the place and Drake sitting on the other side of the coach, still asleep. Shaking Drake, I motion to the door when he finally opens his eyes. He gets up slowly, checking the peephole and then telling me the drugs are okay. As Drake opens the door, a young man with blue eyes and short black emo hair walks in, and smirks at the drugs, still not seeing me hiding around the corner.
“Doing drugs now, Drakester?” His guest cocks an eyebrow and Drake laughs before walking into the kitchen.
“No, I got a friend staying with me right now.”
“Oh, who?”
“No one you know.” His friend laughs and plops down on the couch, finally noticing me cowering in the corner. He turns to fully face me and my world drops, shock spiraling through my system.
“A..Alex?” Slowly, I push my hair in my face and walk in the living room, going to stand by Drake. All too familiar eyes make my heart stop, panic setting in.
“Drake, what is she doing here?” Drake looks between us confused.
“She’s someone I know, I found her in a rough situation, and helped her out, what’s it matter?” Dimitri looks at Drake and snorts.
“I’m not surprised.” Drake clenches his jaw and steps forward. I turn my head to the ground, knowing what’s going to come soon.
“How can you be so heartless, Dimitri?” Dimitri’s eyes fill with disgust.
“Oh, I have a heart, but I don’t waste it on trashy drug using, alcoholic prostitutes.” Drakes eyes shoot up, and I feel him staring at me.
He steps towards me, almost hesitantly.
“...Alex...?” Moving around him, I grab my stuff and head out the door. He stands motionless the entire time, shock and disappointment, clear in his eyes as I open the door, leaving them alone. The rain pours down on me, soaking me to the bone. About 10 minutes into walking, exhaustion and chill causes me to sit on the road side bench, curling my knee’s to my chest. The most unexpected thing happened then, as I remember the emotion in Drake’s eyes.
Disappointment.
Pity.
Anger.
Disgust.
Suddenly, the tears started to fall.
Oh well, at least the saying goes, ‘Walk in the rain so nobody knows I’m crying.’
