the beginning

Guys get up, you are running late and only have time for one of you to take a shower." Elijah said but I just stayed laying there.

"Nik come on." Kol said, pulling the covers off of me."

"No." I grumbled slowly from under my covers.

"We have to go to school."

I could feel Elijah staring at me from my back and he was at least five feet away.

"Leave me alone." I said pushing him away and he walked out.

"You can not be late again or the school will call and we don't need that." Elijah said pulling me up."Come on, let's go get you some food. Looks like Kol is going to take a shower today."

I just sat bringing my knees up to my chest and hoped he would leave and not notice that I was trying to skip school but he just sat down next to me.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing." I mumbled under my breath.

"You can either tell me or tell Finn because it is messing with your entire mood."

I was playing with the ends of the shirt twisting and untwisting.

"I don't want to go." I whispered as if there was a whole room of people.

"Why not?"

"They make fun of me behind my back and say mean things to me." I said putting my head against my knees.

He scooted closer to me and wrapped me in a hug. I wanted to fight it off but it felt really comforting.

"Well just try and not listen to them because there is nothing wrong with you okay, come on let go get some breakfast."

He got up and left and I went to my drawer and picked out some clothes to put on and headed to the kitchen for breakfast.

"Hey Finn do we have any extra money?" I asked as soon as I saw him.

"We did but then I had to call someone to fix the sink so we don't have any extra money."

"Fine, I'll tell Kol." I said grabbing the plate of breakfast he handed me.

"Why do you need to tell Kol." Freya said coming into the kitchen with Rebekah in tow.

"We don't want to eat sandwiches every day for lunch and Finn won't give us anything else to eat."  I explained sitting down at the table to eat.

"That reminds me, do you have your money?" He asked me.

"Not yet I'm supposed to get it during the second and third period."

"Hey what's for breakfast?"Kol asked, rushing to Finn.

"Pancakes and eggs, here."

"Okay I have to go now but I'll be back later." Elijah said, rushing down the stairs.

"You don't usually leave until like ten what's up." Freya asked.

"Class is starting early today." He said grabbing a apple and left.

"Kol do you have your money yet?" Finn asked.

"This is all I have until I can find a new job." He told Finn and gave him some money.

"Okay you guys have to go before Mikael picks a fight with Klaus,'' Freya said, noticing him walking in the house," use the back door."

Kol and I rushed to our backpacks and left. We were walking since the bus had passed about twenty minutes ago.

I kept kicking the rocks from under my feet every time I took a step but then I realized I forgot my lunch and would be hungry until dinner. If there was any at all. I was used to this though.
