I opened my eyes and saw a really bright light. I think I was at the hospital again.

"Hey I'm your doctor I just need to ask you a few questions because you did take quite a few blows to your head." The doctor had told me once I was aware of my surroundings.

"I know." I told him and reached for my teddy bear that no doubt Elijah brought.

"What do you mean you know?" He asked, looking up from his clipboard.

"This isn't my first time here and it probably won't be my last so I'll answer your questions for you. My name is Klaus. I am fourteen. I am a sophomore. My best friend is Stefan Salvatore but nobody knows that because we have only recently become friends and I am terrified of dark places." I told him and he had this look as if it was the most surprising thing in the world.

"Okay well you got lucky because you only have one bruise on your lower abdomen and a few stitches on your head but your sister is signing your discharge papers so you can leave today. Here are the clothes you arrived in, don't worry we washed them." He then left the room after handing me a plastic bag.

I took the clothes out and changed into them. Elijah then walked in as I was picking up my stuffed bear.

"Ready to go." He asked calmly.

"Yeah I'm really tired."

"You were unconscious for a day and a half, and you have school tomorrow."

"I'm still tired. But I've thought about the sport the school is making me do."

"Really what do you got?" He asked excitedly.

"Water polo and it doesn't cost that much money."

"Alright we'll tell Freya and Finn when we get home and see if they agree."

We continued walking, eventually catching up with Freya and going home.

-

I was drawing something on a paper which I quickly hid under my covers when Freya walked in.

"I talked to Finn and he agreed to let you play this sport because he has the money for it now."

"Okay." I replied.

I only wanted to do the sport because Stefan was doing it.  And I would never tell anyone why that is so important to me now, but I hated why it was important.

"So what are you hiding under the covers?" She asked, raising her eyebrows at me.

"Nothing bad."  I mumbled quietly.

"Speak up or I'll have to look under the covers myself."

I was startled by that sentence so I spoke up quickly.

"It isn't anything bad." She gave me a look like she didn't believe me," I promise it won't get me or you in trouble."

Thankfully she took it as a sign and left, but not before shooting me a certain look that Kol only usually gets.

I grabbed the drawing from under the covers and got back to finishing it. It was of two boys walking in the park laughing, except they are dating and holding hands. Everyone accepted them and congratulated them on their relationship.

No one would congratulate me and accept me when they knew what I was. It was even worse when they would know I liked my best friend, who isn't a girl, who is not at all feminine. And I hated that so I hid behind fake girlfriends when people got suspicious and tried to act really masculine around everyone at school. No one at school treats people like me with generosity.
