William and I pulled into the parking lot at the same time Ryder was walking into the diner. Ryders figure disappeared and I looked over at william, he had a scowl on his face
"Why are you so tense?" I reached a hand over and set it on top of his that was holding the steering wheel, he jumped at my touch
"What if he finds out? Realizes i'm not dave and instead the man who stabbed him?!" William frantically said, removing my hand from his I grabbed ahold of his chin and had him look at me
"Maybe he will, maybe he won't. We'll deal with that when the time comes" I reassured him, looking into his blue eyes, leaning in I lightly kissed his nose
"Come on, just because I co-own this place now doesn't mean I get to be late" I stepped out of the car, william shook his head at my remark
"Hey! I used to be the co-owner!" William shot back, walking over to where he was standing I gave him a small smirk before continuing to walk into the diner
We parted ways, william off to do whatever, I looked for Ryder before I started my way to office. I spotted him sitting alone at a table, he looked up and waved at me with a smile
"Good morning" I said walking over to him, he watched as I did
"Good morning" Ryder greeted me, I had reached him by now and was standing over his sitting position, he looked a little nervous
"First day jitters?" I questioned him with a raised brow, he laughed and pushed his shoulders back
"I guess you could say that" Ryder leaned back in his chair, I turned next to him and leaned against the table
"If anything becomes too much, let me know" I said hoping that he understands what I mean, his tone shifted and he stood up
"Thank you" He put a hand on my shoulder and leaned in and whispered "I'm over what happened to me a few years back" He took his hand off my shoulder and walked away
I decided to not waste anymore time and make my way back to my office, I did my usual routine to get the day started, I sat back in my seat
My thoughts started to wander and I couldn't help but think about Elizabeth, her smile, her laugh, her personality. I opened a drawer on my desk and grabbed out her red ribbon
I looked down at it as I ran my fingers across it, I saw droplets forming on my desk I took a hand up to my face and wiped my tears away
"Hey...oh my!" A male voice said as they walked into my office, I felt the presence get closer and wrap its arms around my shoulders
"What's wrong?" I recognized this voice, it was henry, I looked over at him with a few tears left in my eyes
"Just missing lizzy" I spoke, my voice cracking, henry gave me a sympathetic smile before pulling me into a hug
"We all do, kiddo" Henry said as he stroked my hair, I nodded my head before pulling away
"I'm sorry, what did you need?" I finished wiping my tears and pulled myself together
"Just wanted to talk to you about eve.." Henry's tone was now serious, I put a arm on my desk and leaned against it
"She's on thin ice." Henry spoke, he stood up and now leaned against my desk
"I have to agree, she's not the best worker" I admitted to henry, he nodded his head in agreement
"If she makes another mistake, don't hesitate to fire her" Henry moved his head and was looking down at me
"You got it, boss" My mood has definitely gotten better, now knowing that eve could possibly be out of the picture very soon, henry walked out of my office and william walked in
"Hello, love" William greeted me, leaning down and kissing the top of my head
"How's work going?" I spun around in my chair and saw william now sitting on the couch
"Same old" I responded standing up and stretching my back and my arms above my head
"Tonight, you and me, dinner" William said as he wrapped his arms around my waist, I put my arms down and laid them on his shoulders
"Sounds like a date" I responded, william smirked and started swaying our hips side to side
"A special one" He leaned down and kissed my forehead, he stood back up and looked down into my confused expression, I tried reading his expression but he only had a smirk and that could mean anything
"what does that mean?" I asked him, he let go and made his way over to my door, I turned with him
"Just be ready by 7:30" he held my office door open, he swung his body around and now he was halfway in my office but also in the hallway, one hand holding the door and the other holding his weight up as he leaned into the room
"I'll still be at work the-" I started saying but william cut me off
"I already told henry we need to leave early, he's okay with it" William smirked and sent a wink my way before shutting my door and walking back down the hall
"That fucker..." I muttered to myself, I walked back over to my chair and sat down, now waiting for my time to leave and wondering what's so special about this date
