Baahubali: The Beginning

Yes ik it's been a long time since i updated but here you go!

ok before we talk about the plot and characters and shit can we talk about the women?! like HELLO. Iconic. Legends. And they ARE the moment. This movie definitely awakened some desi wlws- (the mlms too because prabhas. i have no clue how we bisexuals survived)

Anyway we start of with Sivagami (Ramya Krishnan my beloved <3) holding baby Mahendra (who turns into a TOTAL smokeshow) while having a wholeass arrow in her back. She kills the soldiers who were trying to kill her (my queen!). We all know how she dies and honestly is there a more iconic way? like the hand? the hold on the baby? fucking marry me (as you can see i'm a complete simp for ramya krishnan).

A village nearby with a girlboss as their leader finds the kid. suddenly a cave opens up too but she ordered for it to be covered up. Montage of Shiva (Mahendra) growing up.

Then, we all know this. Even if you haven't seen the movie you already know about it. JATA KATAHA SAMBHRAMABRAMA NILIMPA NIRJARI VILOLA VICHI VALARI VIRAJA MANA MURDHANIII-

So... Shiva lifts up the Shivling and puts it under the waterfall. Then dances weirdly. Somehow a mask falls down and dude gets obsessed with it. It makes an imprint in the sand and he forms a face of a woman. And falls in love with it. He climbs up the waterfall that he is forbidden to climb and finds a woman (fever dream). They dance because yes. Dude climbs more. There's some painfully obvious cgi. And then he sees the actual girl who is fever dream was based on. But she's not a graceful barely clothed butterfly magnet. Avantika is a badass warrior, set on rescing Queen Devasena (who is totally NOT Shiva's mother). He first sees her being chased by soldiers. She gets her sword and destroys all the soldiers. We then find out that there's a whole cult dedicated to it.

We then get introduced to Katappa (Sathyaraj). Badass oldie who's a slave to Mahishmati because of some dumb oath. A king comes in claiming to have the best sword in the world. Katappa beats him with a plain old sword.

Then back to Avantika!
There's some weird kinky shit that happens where she puts her jand in the water (to just wash off the dirt) and Mahi comes in and is so attracted to her hand he draws a tattoo-?
Ok-

She then gets the opportunity to rescue Devasena but cult leader guy sees the tattoo and apparently it goes against some principles so she's cast out. The thing she dedicated her life to. Ruined by a man. Typical. She then gives a speech and convinces him.

Then a montage of Mahishmati and yikes-
People getting lynched-
Robbed-
Overtaxed-
But everyone definitely forgot all about it after seeing Rana Dagubatti's abs. He plays Mahi's cousin and current king Bhallaldev. He fight a bull because why not. He apparently has kids so whoever his wife is, i'm so sorry bby you do not deserve this. I'm guessing you died so atleast you're put out of your misery.

Katappa saves Balla and asks for Devasena to be set free. Ballaldev tels him to kill her to "set her free". Ajeeb bandha hai. Dimag thoda satak gaya hai.

Balla's son, some janvaar kahika, gets her out of the cage and kicks her. All because she chose Baahubali (Mahi's dad) over him. Katappa offers to break her free but "Mere Karan Arjun- FUCK WRONG MOVIE- " Mera beta aayega."

She has some very high expectations for what her son will do. But not like ours do. She hopes he'll push Bhallaldev into a pyre and set fire to him aur wo hamesha hamesha ke liye narak ke aag me jalega TERI MAA KI- (smiley sticker to whoever gets that reference because selene and amber took gold star) and we're back to Avantika and Mahi being a creepy fuck. She's doing archery and this bitch releases a fucking snake on her to add more tattoos! SAALE KUTTE BHAD MEIN JAA-
