Warning: Extremely biased review due to this being the reviewer's comfort movie.

Welcome back! Unfortunately from now on, I will be doing this all by myself...

Today, i'll be reviewing Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewaani! One of my absolutely favourite Bollywood movies!

It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Kabir "Bunny" Thapar, jo udna chatha hai, dhodna chatha hai, girna bhi chatha hai, bas rukna nahi chatha hai. (Who wants to fly, wants to run, who wants to also fall, but doesn't want to stop.)

We also have the amazing Deepika Padukone as nerdy Naina Talwar.

Kalki Koechlin as sherni Aditi and my favourite character.

And Aditya Roy Kapur as Avi who has no cash, no filter and when needed, no condom.

Anyway, they all used to go to school together back in the day. Bunny, Aditi and Avi were the popular kids and Naina was the padhaku. Years later, Naina bumps into Aditi at the supermarket and she talks about this trip to Manali she's going on.

Fed up with her medical ki padhai, Naina decides to jaa and jile her zindagi. (go and live her life) Since she signed up last minute, there were no bunk available for her on the train. Bunny offers to share his with her.

Not in that way.

Get your minds out of the gutter.

Anyway, in comes Lara, who's the girly girly damsel in distress type. They all play a game called I Never (Never Have I Ever). The very cliche Bollywood "pyaar hua hai?" question is asked and Mr. Flirty McFlirt Thapar of course answers with a "Nahi. Par ab shayad hojayega." looking at Lara.....

's chest.

Anyway, they reach the hotel or wherever they're staying. There's a scene with Avi and Bunny jamming to Chumma Dede (give me kiss) and annoying Aditi. Then there's a trek. Since apparently we're back in school, there are two teams. The losing team has to make the night's dinner.

Naina almost wins but is slowed down by Bunny talking about how girls like her are made for true love, not flirtations and flings. While saying all that, he ties her foot to the log they were sitting on.

Then there is another romantic scene.

We then have Balam Pichkari, which is impossible to get out of your head, where they all see a fun side of Naina they haven't before.

And you know how it goes....

Naina falls for Bunny.

Bunny friendzones Naina and flies off to Chicago.

And now, we flash forward to a few years later when it's Aditi's wedding.

Not to Avi.

Even though we all expected that.

So good job with not going with the cliché storyline!

Aditi has gone through her Anjali transformation. Naina has become much more outgoing and fun. Bunny is ready for commitment. And Avi has a million loans on his head.

Bunny dramatically crashes the reception with the iconic, and i'm pretty sure all of us know the dance (Don't lie. Each of us knows it.), Badtameez Dil!

Then there's the sangeet where we learn Lara, from the Manali trip, is Tarun, Aditi's fiance's, cousin! They dance on Ooh La La from Dirty Picture.

Naina thinks her Bole Chudiyaan won't be able to won over it so Bunny helps by performing Dilli Wali Girlfriend, which was my favourite song from the movie when I first watched it. Along with Ghagra.

SHIT I FORGOT TO MENTION THE GHAGRA SCENE-

Moving on from that, Naina starts falling for Bunny again and this time, he reciprocates her feelings.

But he still wants to travel the world while she wants to settle down. We then have the tears-inducing song Kabira.

Bunny flies off to Europe again..... NOT!

He shows up at Naina's doorstep and says that he still wants to travel, but this time, he sees her with him. He then says he's ready to settle down with her. Aww!!!

All the songs in this movie are very sweet and love-inducing. Apart from maybe Ghaghra. But still, Madhuri is an absolutely goddess and it's actually a really pretty ghaghra.

It's also not very stereotypical. Aditi is very spunky and cool but not an "I'm not like other girls" girl. Naina is nerdy but still fun. Bunny is a flirt but still knows what he wants in life.

Overall, this movie is really amazing and one of my absolute favourites.

That's it for today!

Hope you guys enjoyed!
