That night, after arguing with your parents, you stayed with Min-Ji's family. Mrs. Kim was frantic when she saw your bruise, more panicked than you were, despite your reassurances that you were fine.
Min-Ji, being a good friend, avoided pressing you with questions and instead talked about Harry Potter, instantly brightening your mood. After a playful scolding from her parents for being awake, she turned off her light and whispered goodnight.
As you lay staring at the ceiling, your mind drifted back to the fight from a few nights ago—the one that changed your life and your secret career, known only to Miss Park. Just thinking about it made your heart race, and you hated keeping this from your best friend. She didn't deserve a friend who hid such a significant secret, especially one that could alter her view of you.
After taking one last look at Min-Ji, who was sleeping peacefully, you closed your eyes and drifted off.
The next morning, you rode your motorcycle home to change into your school uniform. "Are you sure you don't want to ride with me?" you asked Min-Ji, who was clearly against the idea.
"No!" she replied, shaking her head. "I'm still scared to ride."
"Suit yourself. I'm stopping by the store; need anything?"
"Nope, thanks."
You headed to the store where you usually bought chocolate for your friends before returning home to grab your book, iPod, and uniform. Your parents were in Seoul for work, but you didn't care.
You rode straight to school, attracting astonished glances from fellow students, particularly at your expensive motorcycle. After removing your helmet, you felt like a cliché bad boy in your dark hoodie and black pants—thanks to too many cringe-worthy Kdramas with Min-Ji—though you wore your school uniform underneath to avoid trouble. The cold weather made the layers comfortable.
You were expected to wear a skirt, but even the largest size was too short for you. The school permitted slacks instead, which frustrated your mother, while your father was indifferent. Your mother could modify the skirt, but she struggles to compromise with anyone.
As you walked through the crowd, your classmate Su-Hyeok, known as Bare-Su, stopped you. "What's up?" you asked.
Su Hyeok sighed softly, his expression pleading. "The bullies have dragged another girl and boy to the construction site. Can you come with me?"
Without hesitation, you followed him, worried about the victims. Upon arrival, you were shocked to see Eun-Ji from the taekwondo club, helplessly covering her chest. She was new to your club, and you shot a deadly glare at Myeong-Hwan, who wore a smug smile.
Dismissing his taunts, you sprinted to Eun-Ji and draped your jacket over her. Grateful tears welled in her eyes as if you were a hero. You remained silent, your heart filled with hatred for the bullies. "Come on, Eun-Ji. I'll report this to the police."
Your gaze accidentally met Gwi-Nam's, revealing a love-struck glint in his eyes. Choosing to ignore him, you and Su-Hyeok pulled the bullies away from the unfinished room until a remark made everyone stop.
"You look so sexy in the video," Gwi-Nam sneered. "Should I send it to your mum? You know I'm friends with her on Facebook, right?"
Chang-Hoon laughed, "Why would you befriend an old woman on Facebook?"
You clenched your fist and gritted your teeth, seeing only red. Taking a deep breath, you lifted your chin defiantly. "The video is proof of your disgusting sexual assault on her. Under Section 376, a perpetrator of sexual assault faces imprisonment of no less than seven years, extendable to ten."
