Chapter 1

Shen Wei's happiness broken when suddenly a hand gripped her wrist and she is pulled to the one corner in that room, startling the friend of Shen Wei that talked to her. Shen Wei swallows hard to see the face in front of her right now but still she tried to be normal and brave. That guy in front of her sighs in frustration to face her right now.

''What are you doing here?'' that guy asked with a mad face.

''Err... To join this research too,'' Shen Wei replied with her stuttering voice made that guy grits his teeth for his mad to hear that reason.

''Didn't I tell you to reject the invitation from Prof. Ouyang?'' that guy mentioned while trying to slow down his voice from heard by the peoples near them.

Shen Wei nods admitted.

''Then, why are you still accepted that invitation?!'' that guy asked in mad and frustration made Shen Wei almost cried to see the mad face of this guy.

''Dr. Zhao Yunlan, this is my research and this is about my family heirloom too. That pendant is belonged to my family. Of course I want to know the truth too by myself,'' Shen Wei bravely replied made that guy named Zhao Yunlan slams his fist on the wall near to the face of Shen Wei, startling Shen Wei that now closing her eyes for her scare.

''I know you want to know the truth too, Weiwei. But you will be in danger to join this research. What if that thing haunts you during the research too? What if this pendant will possess you in there? We will be in the deep of jungle, Weiwei. Nothing can help us in there except that monk. With you that related to that pendant, I am afraid that thing will try to get you in there,'' Zhao Yunlan reminded.

''But, Dr. Zhao, it's better to be at your side when that's happened instead of I am alone without you,'' Shen Wei bravely stated made Zhao Yunlan sighs again but now he tried to control his anger over this beautiful girl in front of him.

''Are you sure you want to face this with me? Aren't you scare if that thing keeps coming to you at there? You may go deeper to that thing in that jungle, Weiwei. I am afraid you can't handle it, Weiwei,'' Zhao Yunlan reminded again.

Shen Wei swallows hard. Yes, she is scared too. But she didn't have a choice to join this research too. This is her research that she chose for her study. And that pendant is her family heirloom that she found from her family belongings together with her grandfather's journal. She wants to know the truth when that thing keeps haunting in her sleep to find something in that jungle which she didn't know what it is. She just knows that thing keeps calling her to that jungle but this guy in front of her didn't want her to get closed to that jungle for her safety.

''What if what I dreamt of will become true, Dr. Zhao? It will take you all from me if I didn't go there,'' Shen Wei cried to think of that possibility when she dreamt of that possibility to happen.

''It's just a dream, Weiwei. Nothing will be happened to us. But you, it will be danger to you,'' Zhao Yunlan said his assurance.

Shen Wei shakes her head.

''I don't believe in you, Dr. Zhao. I will join this research too. Like it or not, you need to protect me as well as I will protect you too,'' Shen Wei decided made Zhao Yunlan sighs for unknown numbers now.

''Alright! Alright, Weiwei! Since you insisted, then I will allow you to join us. But Weiwei, please tell me everything even a single thing in your dream, understand?'' Zhao Yunlan warned as he allowed Shen Wei finally.

Shen Wei nods agreed.

''And please take care of yourself in there! I don't want to see you hurt,'' Zhao Yunlan reminded.
