In our travel, Jack carrying me, across the busy streets of town, while people gave us strange and probably disgusting looks, we finally reached my home. The wind blew like there was a typhoon as I reached for the gate, making my hair flow in each and every direction. I looked around, while Jack just stand beside me.
I tucked a stray of hair behind my ear then resumed unlocking my gate until a paper landed right in my head. Curious as I can be, I opened the crumpled note then my eyes widened in shock.
"DIE! YOU'RE NOT MEANT TO LIVE! NOT ANYMORE!" was the note said, printed in big red bold letters.
"What is tha- shit" Jack said then snatched the paper away from my hand. I was still frozen in my spot, the numbness of my legs suddenly came back and I slumped in the brick pavement.
"I-it's not really for me right?" I said shaking, chuckling nervously.
Jack gripped the paper tightly, crumpling it than it was before. He was staring into the nothingness, mouth agape. Jack looked at me with terrified eyes, and I already knew the answer.
"It's.. it's for me, right?" I said. Jack avoided my gaze and shifted uneasily.
"I shouldn't be scared about this, maybe this was just a prank, you know. I was also a prankster and I've done these shit a lot of times before." I said then laughed nervously. Jack's gaze again landed to me. A stare mixed with pity and curiosity.
"This - this is not a thing to be laughed about, Raine. This is serious matter. Do you know who gave this threat to you?" he said furiously.
"S-sorry." I said.
I don't know what made him upset. I must have said something wrong.
"I- I don't know anyone who would give me this kind of threat. Back in my village I don't have nay enemies, and in the univer-"
"It isn't just a normal person." he said.
"What?" I whispered.
"He's the leader of our federation, our root, our lord, Zal- duck!" Jack shouted.
Jack jumped into me, his weight crashing us down.
*Bang! Bang*
I heard loud explosions, and it rung loudly in my ears. Jack's body slumped into me like a log and, I can't move a limb.
"Jack, you're heavy." I grunted. I somehow, finally moved into a bit much more comfortable position, under his waist, my head popping on his side.
I saw a very tall man, in black. Fedora was hung across his shoulders, combat boots which seemed really heavy, and a blood red rose on his left hand, and a gun in the right. The man turned around with me facing his back. Due to my limited field of vision, I didn't caught a glimpse of his face. Jack shifted and grunted.
"Jack?" I said then squeezed my way out. As I sat up, my eyes widened with fear.
"JACK!"
Jack's shoulder and left arm was shot. That man! He was carrying a gun. I whipped my head around, but there was no sign of him. Where could have he gone in such a nick of time? Jack grunted again.
"Oh no. What should I do? Why wasn't this taught in our class goddammit!" I said, then tears started to well up in my eyes. Jack turned paler than ever, and I've gone in to panic mode.
"Hold on, please." I said then sniffled while hugged him tighter.
"Please! Anyone? Help!" I screamed.
