He was the last person you wanted to see upon entering your new class. You knew he would be here, at the school at least, but it would be your luck that he ended up in the same class as you and your brother.
You stood by his side, watching as his pale hands trembled, his messy green hair standing out a bit more than normal—almost like just seeing his childhood bully had the same effect as being electrocuted.
You placed a hand on his shoulder, gaining his attention rather quickly. "It's going to be okay." You smiled reassuringly, using a voice reserved for him. "You don't have to let him bother you anymore. You deserve to be here."
Izuku sighed at your words, his face falling into the palms of his hands as he shut out the world for a moment, regaining a steady rhythm while allowing your sentiment to gift him confidence.
Your relationship with your brother had been an ever changing one.
When you were little the two of you would run around the playground, playing heroes and dreaming for hours about what you would do when you were older.
You were inseparable, until your father left without a trace, and you inherited a mutated version of his quirk while Izuku remained quirkless.
For a while, all you remembered was crying. Your mother sobbed constantly, left alone to raise two children, and your brother grieved a dream that now seemed so out of reach for him—but easily placed in your lap.
And you? You felt like you were often the only one holding the three of you together. The perfect glue to keep your family afloat.
After elementary school, you and Izuku were placed in different classes all throughout junior high. This placed a further barrier in your relationship, but you still did your best to protect him from the monsters of your school when you could.
That went well, until you re-met Katsuki Bakugou, a boy who cared about nothing but becoming the number one hero.
The boy with the grumpy face and blonde tufts of hair was absolutely intriguing in ways you couldn't explain, and you knew he would be your downfall.
The two of you dated for a little while but that clearly didn't end well, being that you were still standing in front of the large door to class 1-A next to your trembling brother, peering only slightly towards the blonde boy yelling at another.
When you noticed that your brother was still frozen in place, you sighed as you decided to search for your desk, only stopping when you felt his hand clutch your shoulder,
You glanced back at him with a quirked brow and he smiled supportively. "You deserve to be here too. Don't let your memories of him tarnish your future."
You chuckled softly, gently pushing his hand off you. "I haven't let that guy bother me in a long time."
That, of course, had been a lie, more for your benefit than Izuku's.
There was just something so painful that stuck with you after your breakup. Katsuki had been so demanding in the fact that he wanted to change for you, learn how to be a man and do things the proper way.
But that didn't stop him from tormenting your brother behind your back.
It had been hard to even look him in the eye after you heard him tell your twin to kill himself. Izuku was like a piece of you and it pained you to remember how long he lied about the way Katsuki treated him so you could be happy.
That's why you two stuck pretty close together now. You supported each other when it was needed.
Ironically, Izuku's desk was behind Katsuki's.
