I woke up remembering that Mr. Rusty our district leader, has retired, I get dressed. "Well, well, Ash I didn't know your gonna be fancy!" Maple purred her fluffy squirrel-like tail swinging side to side. "I wanted to be formal, you know since with Rusty retiring with his wife Sandy, Ken needs to pick a deputy..." I sighed as she fixed my bowtie before ken Shouted for a district meeting, "As you all know Mr.Rusty is retiring from the leader position, therefore I must take his place as the leader, but first I must pick our new deputy..." he hissed glaring at Maple, "Ash," ken smiled but I knew he didn't have a good set in mind for me as most of the district was angry and surprised "You have proven that your loyal, yes me and you had our differences but I'm pushing that aside for you, are my, Our new deputy!" he patted my hair the made it slightly messy as I fixed it quickly. "Matthew Gold, my brother, you have proven yourself loyal enough to come with us to the gathering, I trust you to choose who coming along." ken purred to his younger half-brother who was slightly taller. 

As we arrived at the gathering which is a tall two-story building with four distinct flags; one yellow with a black thunder stripe, another blue with black river outlines, the third green with black wind symbols, and the last one was red with boring black eyes and a slight shadow near the symbol. I stand next to Ken on a podium with the yellow flag, as Mr. shadow was standing next to his deputy Rowan, along with Peeta, and Misty. Misty spoke first "Welcome all to this gathering today! Thunder, Wind, Shadow, and River, our districts have been full from this New-Leaf, correct?" We all nod "River district is sprouting to proper numbers, Shadow?" I turn my head to see rowan looking concerned. "Thank you for your news Mrs. Talon, Shadow district is doing fine our deputy has had HIS new litter, and we allowed Sol to join us." Shadow announced with pride, I smiled and then nodded to rowen who smiled back at me, we were lucky to stand next together so I whispered "How many kits?" "Two, or three-" rowan was about to mew but Peeta interrupted "Wind District is, fine but we are slowly losing for we have no resources for white cough" "White cough?" I mew "we have plenty, we can share some-" "No, it's too risky I will NOT risk our clan!" ken hissed as I tried to be kind. Honey and Moth hissed back at ken "Are you listening to yourself, Ken?" Moth scolds her half-brother "Moth's right Ken! if the wind district is falling apart we need to help them!" Honey hissed with Crow and Maple trying to sit her down. "The women are right sir, and you are too but we need to help our fellow districts" I hiss joining Moth's scolding. Mat pointed up to show the capital scolding ken and the other districts, I spoke "the capital is disapproving of our choices sir, we should close this off now." I whisper ken nods "dismissed". 

After we returned to our district I walked to my room, "And this is where you and Ash sleep, I hope you get comfy" Ken opened the door for Mat who got undressed right after ken closed to door. "So, you got any-" "Extra P.J.s? yes, I do here" I tossed a PJ shirt and pants that were just his size "How do you-?" "James, he's bigger than me and he left those here so, yeah" I explained to Mat as I smoothed out mine, I sigh "Fine, yes we only have ONE bed, pick aside and don't, be weird, got it?" he nods and crawls underneath the covers I do as well. An hour passes and I'm still awake, I sit up and walk to the door to the restroom then went back to bed.

As the sky reached dawn I'm the first one up so I start my morning chores, Checking the prey Tunnel, and going on an alone hunt, but surprisingly Mr. Ken put me on a patrol, "Please wake Maple, Lily, and Mat please I need them to fill the prey tunnel, its getting empty" ken hissed his tone grumpy, "Yes sir...." I grind my teeth glaring at ken as he walks off to his room. 

As I open the door to mine and Mat's room I see none other than the jack-ass himself, "Mr-Mr. Ken!" I stutter out of shock "why are you in my room?" I tilt my head as I close the door, shutting it lightly as Ken speaks "Well since Mat has white cough, I thought "hey, let's give Ash some company!" and so here I am" he smiled nervously as I scoffed.

I sighed "Fine, only ONE night, got it?" I pointed at the sweating man as he nodded
