Rayna and Lee didn't say much after the discussion of the old Leonardo's from years ago but they did seem to enjoy each other's company, even in the silence.
Soon Thomas came back with the medicine, just enough for two people.
"Did anyone see you buy it?" Rayna worried.
"No, Margery is low key, she can sneak anything" Thomas answered.
"Wait, what happens when we take the trackers out?" Rayna asked.
"It notifies the government that we died," Lee explained.
"Right, so we all can't 'die' at the same time..." Rayna advised.
"Yeah that wouldn't go well, uh, well you could 'die' today because everyone saw you passed out in the Borough" Thomas suggested to Rayna.
"Don't I have to be the prisoner? The government will see you carrying me out and then when we get out of town we can cut out" Rayna replied.
"That actually makes sense. Alright, so i'll 'die' today and then you can 'die' tomorrow night, right before we knock out the Jacksies" Lee affirmed.
"Okay, alright, how are we supposed to find the trackers again?" Thomas looked at Rayna since it was her idea to cut them out.
"A magnet" she reminded him and he nodded.
"How are we supposed to get a magnet that strong?" he asked and she thought for a moment.
Where would they get a magnet? In Paslandsna they had them in the entrances of buildings so they would know if anyone had something dangerous.
"What about a scavenger? They would have one, right?" she asked.
"Yeah, yeah, don't you remember Plaidse? He used to have loads of them" Lee said and Thomas nodded.
"Guess we're visiting Plaidse then"
It took a half hour to walk across the Dorp to Plaidse's hideout, it was a hole in the side of the hill with a bunch of worms and some snakes crawling around. Rayna really didn't want to go in there but Thomas promised he would hold her hand if she got scared, that just made her annoyed so she walked in with her head high in the air.
"Plaidse? You here? If not i'll just take whatever I came for" Thomas called out as they walked around the dingy and dark corridors, if you could even call them corridors.
"Who is it? What do you want?" a frog-like voice asked and then an older man popped out of nowhere, he looked like a giant mole which just fit with his house.
"Jesus, how long have you been in here without sunlight? 20 years?" Lee sneered and the man stared at him before nodding.
"Sounds about right, yes, what do you want Leonardo?" the man asked blankly and Rayna snickered quietly under her breath.
"'Leonardo'? Who the hell is Leonardo?" Thomas snorted.
"Obviously-", "We need a magnet or some kind of metal detector." Lee hurried and Thomas looked at him, he was confused but the expression on his face made him look like he wasn't.
"A metal detector, eh?" Plaidse muttered as he rubbed his chin.
Rayna looked around the - house if that's what you want to call it, and found some pretty interesting stuff. Off to the right was a small black dog curled up on a moth eaten bed. Next to the dog there was a giant bookshelf but there weren't any books to be seen, only random treasures stacked on top of each other. Rayna decided to move on when she found a jar full of yellow liquid and a floating thumb in it. Next to the bookshelf was a small cot which is where Plaidse must sleep because there was a blanket thrown on it. Then there was a kitchen table that was too big to even be in here and was full of random things just like the bookshelf. Then the room split around into a long tunnel with many breakaway tunnels, Rayna was starting to wonder if Plaidse actually was a mole.
