Augenblick (blink of an eye) ~ Sam Mewis

Y/N smiles to herself as she locks her phone and slides it in her bag. Thinking she hides her emotions well, Kelley and Alex come up to the freshly turned 29 year old and nudge both her shoulders.

"Who's got you smiling like that?" Alex says as she smirks at Y/N.

"No one"

"Oh come on, there's gotta be someone" Kelley pushes further.

"Yeah Y/N/N, spill it!" Y/N rolls her eyes and caves to her 'older sisters'.

"Fine, it's my girlfriend. Are you happy now?"

"You have a girlfriend?!" They both yell, which causes the whole locker room to look at the three.

The rest of the team rushes to them and sits around, waiting for Y/N to gush on the details of her four year relationship with the popular singer. Y/N gets interrogated with the usual questions of 'how long have you been together?', 'can we see a photo?', 'what's her name?'.

"If I show you a photo, you all have to promise not to freak out" Y/N states as she gets nervous about her second family's reaction to who she's dating.

"We promise, now hurry up" Sonnett whines, Y/N pulls up a photo of Selena and her at their house in L.A.

Y/N shows the team and they all gasp and start cheering. Y/N blushes and hides behind Alex.

"You're dating Selena Gomez, you lucky bitch!" Kristie yells out and Y/N is surprised her best friend Sam didn't tell her sister. She really kept her pinky promise from four years ago.

"I'm telling Kerr you said that" Kristie rolls her eyes as the other start to ask questions.  

The team head out for a brutal training filled with the beep test, burpees and a scrimmage; and that's not even half of it. Everyone went back to the locker room and Y/N's phone was ringing with Selena's ringtone echoing in the room. Y/N runs to her phone to answer it before it rings out.

"Hey baby" Y/N said cheerfully but then realised somethings wrong.

"Fuck Taylor, right there" It was her girlfriend moaning her best friends name.

Y/N throws her phone across the locker room hoping it would end the call. Y/N walks slowly over to her phone with everyone looking at her and peaks at it to see it did in fact hang up. Y/N let out a sigh and put on her Beats headphones before going to the bus, ignoring everyone as they attempt to talk to her. Y/N moves to the back of the bus and plays her sad song playlist, deleting any Taylor or Selena songs on there. Y/N looks at the lock and  front background screens and realise they are both of Selena. She changes them and silently cries while looking out the window. No one goes near her until they arrive back at the hotel, and that someone is Sam. She sits next to her best friend and pulls her away from the window. Y/N looks at Sam and breaks down in tears.

Sam looked up to see everyone looking at them and she make eye contact with Alex, who is Y/N's roommate and mouthes to switch rooms. Sam whispers something to Y/N which makes her sit up and slowly leaves the bus. As they walk past, Alex holds out her room key and Sam does the same, silently mentioning that they'll swap luggage in the morning. Once off the bus, Sam bends down and gives Y/N a piggy back ride all the way to the bed in their now shared room. When Y/N falls on the bed, Sam goes to get Y/N some water but is held back.

"Please don't go Sammy. I could use a hug right now" Sam melted at the sight of the Y/E/C coloured eye girl giving her the puppy dog eyes she'd crushed hard over in the past 5 years.

"I'm not going anywhere. Do you want some water?" Sam queried and Y/N nodded, holding her hand out for the bottle.

Sam gets next to Y/N and pulls her into her to cuddle, knowing that this is exactly what she needs right now.
