The happy group arrived at their table, and sat down while laughing heartily. Everyone except Kazuha himself noticed that Y/N laughed more at Kazuha's jokes than anyone else did, and it made them smile. Maybe she really did want to love him after all.

"Kazuha~ how are you settling in in this school?" Hu Tao drawled while smirking, and Y/N elbowed her jokingly.
"Haha, Im settling in just great, thank you for asking Hu Tao," Kazuha smiled that gentle smile that Y/N loved so very much, "Y/N your friends are great!" he added.
"I know right! My besties are amazing as always" you complimented, and Hu Tao plastered a stupid grin on her face while everyone laughed along.
"So Kazuha, have you heard about the upcoming Creativity Week? Apparently all the schools around Teyvat will be participating!  Theres a creative writing competition, art competition, poetry competition... Y/N wants to participate in the creative music competition!" Yanfei said.
"Oh really? I never knew that Y/N liked music," Kazuha replied in surprise.
It was true. Y/N loved music, especially piano and guitar. Shes learned from a young age and always wanted to become a music producer someday.
"Yeah, haha," Y/N spoke awkwardly, scratching her head.
"I'm also fond of music," Kazuha replied with a soothing tone, "I might join the competition too."
"I guess I'll have to start looking over my shoulder," you joked.

That lunch had successfully secured Kazuha as a great friend.
Over the weeks Kazuha and you had begun to grow very close, and loved hanging out with each other. You started to feel like maybe he only liked you as a friend. But you didn't want to give up.

• timeskip to a few weeks later •

This was the week before Creativity Week. You were over at Kazuha's house to hang out. The first time you came here you were amazed at the large mansion that his adoptive parents, named Beidou and Ningguang, owned. It was a very grand estate, and Beidou and Ningguang also treated you as if their own. You didn't really have a good relationship with your parents; it was more like just complicated. So you were glad Kazuha's parents were so nice. You thought of them like your second moms.

"Hey Y/N! Could you help me with this? Im not sure how to use it..." Kazuha's voice drifted from down the hallway.
"Sure."
You headed over to his room. It was impossibly tidy, a complete contrast to your room, which look like the aftermath of a hurricane.
You saw Kazuha struggling with something on his phone and you quickly went over to check.
"I wanted to add you to a groupchat, but how do I do that?" Kazuha explained.
"Oh, what groupchat is it?" you questioned.
"Its just a groupchat of people from my old school. Theyve really wanted to meet you after I told them about it." Kazuha said sheepishly.
"Oh alright then! So just go over here..." you showed him where to add someone, and he clicked on your contact and soon you got a notification that you have been added to the groupchat.
"Also Kazuha, I need to go now... I cant stay here forever you know," you broke the news to him.
"Why cant you just have likr a sleepover or something?" Kazuha complained, while you laughed and rolled your eyes.
"Where would I even sleep?" you joked along.
"In my bed."
You blushed a deep shade of red in response, and he laughed.
"DONT SAY THAT THATS WEIRD," you practically screamed, but Kazuha shushed you.
"Alright, alright, see you next time," he chuckled.
He waved at you wholeheartedly as you walked out the front door.
As soon as you were out of the house you felt your heartbeat rising up again.

You started to overthink. Does he like me? Is he joking? What if he doesnt like me like that? What if he hates me if I confess? What if—

You glanced at your phone. 218 unread messages. Your eyes widened. You completely forgot that Kazuha had added you into that groupchat. You opened it up and started typing.
