It's pitch black dark outside and my mommy still isn't home yet. I already finished all of school work and she promised to take me to the park as soon as I finished. I sat in my bedroom watching my favorite tv show playing with my dolls acting out different scenes I see. It's already been five hours since my mommy left. I didn't know that it takes that long to go to the store and come back. At least that's what my math teacher Ms.Brenda taught me in school. From three o'clock until eight o'clock is five hours right? I think so. All of a sudden I hear the front door slam and hoping that it's mommy I rush down the steps in excitement.
"Mommy! Mommy!" I shout in a loud tone. Stopping at the door I realize it isn't mommy. It's some strange looking man with a black and red coat smiling at me. Not being afraid I look up at him.
"Who are you?".
"Hi my dear I'm Raymond, but you can call me Ray. Your mom told me to come by here and check on you. She didn't tell me how beautiful you are. I'm her good friend".
"But my mommy only went to the store and she said she was coming right back! Why did she send you over here?". I said confused backing up a little bit.
"Because she didn't go to the store. She had to take care of some adult things".
"Ok". I replied back. Looking at him some more he did look familiar. "Oh I remember you. You were at my auntie Keisha's cookout last summer".
"Yes you have good memory. You seem like you are just fine. What have you been doing here all by yourself?" He asked me.
"Uh I just did my homework and play with my dollies". I said back.
"Aren't you a little too old to be playing with toys?".
"I'm only 10 sir". "Well In my book 10 year olds shouldn't be playing with those things and please call me Ray". He said with a wide smile. "Come here little lady". He motioned to me bending down. "What's your name?".
"My n-name is Raven sir". I replied a little hesitant.
"Nonsense you will stop calling me that and call me Ray".
"I'm sorry". I looked up at him.
"No need to be sorry Raven".
"When will my mommy be home?" I asked.
"She never told me sweetheart".
"Ok, I'm going to bed maybe she will be here in the morning".
" Okay, good night sweety". Raymond said in a soft tone.
I walked upstairs back into my room and took all of my clothes off changing into my night clothes. I just wished that mommy could've taken me to the park. As I got into my bed I felt a presence at the door.
"Umm" I said to Raymond who was standing by the door.
He just stood there not saying anything at all and It was beginning to scare me.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you. I was just making sure that you were okay" He looked at me.
"I'm okay thank you" I replied back.
He stood at the door for a couple more seconds then came into my room and sat on my bed. I just layed there kind of scared.
"You look like you're scared, don't be scared" Raymond smirked at me.
I felt something really bad was about to happen to me I just didn't know what.
