Chapter 12- School

Dante's POV:

Today's the day we're supposed to start school. I'm kinda nervous because it will be full of new people but as long as I can stay calm and collected everything should be fine.

After the incident with the panic attack they didn't ask about attendance again which I was very grateful for. I know it will get brought back up again soon but I've got time to think through what I'll say for when it does happen. For now I just need to focus on getting through the day.

I remember Riccardo saying that me and Lucia had all the same classes together which I was very grateful For. I don't like being separated from her it makes me anxious.

'So are you guys excited for your first day?' Of course it was Matteo who asked. He looked genuinely interested in the question though so Lucia answered him.

'It's a whole new school, with new people and teachers, we're elated' sarcastic as always. I chuckle silently. Matteo just rolls his eyes before turning back around in his seat to face the front. It was me, Lucia, Matteo in one car with Vincenzo driving us whilst Leonardo got a lift from his friends or something.

The drive wasn't too long. It was about 20 minutes until we got to the school and my oh my it was impressive. Schools in England never looked as nice as this.

'Woah' I hear Lucia whisper. She seemed just as impressed as I was. The school was huge and actually quite modern and it didn't look shitty which I guess makes sense seeming as the house we live in obviously cost a shit tone so school would probably be just as impressive.

Opening the door I hopped out with Lucia behind me and Vincenzo waved to us telling us to have a good day before he drove away.

'So I'll take you guys to the office just follow me. They'll give you a map and a schedule and all that stuff as long as you have basic materials and a notebook or two you should be fine.' 
'Alright' Lucia was the one who responded. Maybe I'll start talking to them soon.

Soon we saw a sign for an office which we entered where there was a nice looking guy sitting behind the front desk. 'Hey how can I help you?' He smiled. Wow he seems actually kinda nice, not really bitchy.

'Hi yeah my siblings need their schedules and stuff for class they're new, today's their first day. Their names are Lucia and Dante Bianchi.' he looked over to use before nodding and looking through some folders before putting a bunch of sheets onto the desk.

'So this is the map' he pointed at one small piece of paper 'and here are your class schedules. You both have the same classes and the corridors are fairly easy to follow so you'll be fine getting to class. When you get there a teacher will tell you where to sit if there's a seating plan otherwise you can just sit anywhere' we thanked him (well I nodded) before we left.

'Alrighttttt so your first class is Biology which is in SC5 so it's just over in the other building on the first floor, I'll take you guys there' we follow Matteo a couple steps back whilst me and Lucia talk

'Dang this school is crazy. It doesn't look anything like the one back in England'

'Yeah definitely, I think we should just act normal here Lu there's not much need for the whole show we put on last time unless there's a reason'

'Yeah that's true but I'm not changing my personality, if they can't handle me that's there problem'

I laugh at Lucia before we come inside the science building. We're lead to a door before we hear the bell ring signalling the start of first period.

'Bye Matteo' we wave before we walk inside. There were a couple people already in there just seemingly hanging around and we just sat down at the back together because we weren't told otherwise.

————time skip to period 3————
* I'm setting this out so you have period one then 20 minute break then periods 2 and 3 then lunch for 45 mins then period 4 and 5. Lessons are an hour long. Start at 8:45 end at 2:50

Biology wasn't bad and then we had English 2nd and currently I'm sitting in maths. You know maths and I have a love hate relationship, if I understand it then I have no problem with it but when I don't it's just horrendous.

Who decided it would be a good idea to bring so many letters into maths. There's just too many symbols and letters and numbers and my brain can't function.

'Hey I'm Luca, you're new here right?' I hear someone as me on my left. There was a seating plan for this class so Lucia was in front to the right of me while I sat in the back next to a guy apparently called Luca.

'Yeah I'm new. My names Dante, I just moved here.'

'Ah I can tell you've got an English accent right?'

*just in case anyone's confused on to why he's talking when he has issues talking to his brothers. There's a difference between selective mutism and being completely mute. Dante has problems with family roles due to his kidnapper or 'parents' abuse. School is a different environment where he doesn't feel confined or scared. Home life is the main problem. As the story continues you will start to see him start to open up and talk to his brothers but I just wanted to explain this in case anyone was wondering why he's suddenly started talking to strangers. Family bonds are difficult for him to cope with. *

'Yeah I do' I smile at him. He seems nice. He's got black hair which actually seems really fluffy that kind of hovers over his eyes which are a bright green. He seems quite tall even sitting next to me about 6' and quite lean but with some muscles- wait why was I inspecting him so thoroughly? Probably because he's the first person that's talked to me.

'So what do you think so far? Anyone tried to hit on you yet?' He winks at me. Why would someone try to hit on me?

'Um no this is only period 3 dude.' He just shakes his head and smiles.

Throughout the rest of the lesson we just chat a little while we do some maths which thankfully wasn't too hard. After the bell rings we all get up and pack up our things.

'See you around newbie' Newbie?! Who does he think he is calling me that nickname. He doesn't even know me.

He leaves whilst I wait for Lucia to finish packing up her stuff whilst she seems to be in a very deep conversation with the lad next to her. I have no clue what they're talking about but from the very fast hand gestures and increasingly loud voices, I'm guessing it's nothing good.

'Gosh you're so annoying. How could you possibly be this annoying, I've barely know you for an hour!' The guys just gives her a mischievous smile so I decide to step in so that we can leave for lunch already.

'Come on Lu I'm starving' she seems to snap out of whatever little argument she was in and I make a mental note of the guy she was talking to. He seemed harmless and probably just annoyed her but you can never be too careful. Plus she's my sister and I'll always be protective of her.

She finished packing her stuff and we leave to try find the lunch hall, Once we find it we just get into the cold queue since we didn't know what was on hot and bought some sandwiches with some money Riccardo gave us, a cookie and a water before we found an empty table to sit at.

'So how was your first day?'
