My life and every one else's seemed like they were spinning on different orbits. I was constantly going to doctors appointments, and then rushing back to school to pick Aaron up on time. My body was wearing down slowly and I was waiting for someone to notice.

Teacher's were beginning to ask why I wasn't attending much class, but I just told them that school wasn't my first priority. Which wasn't a lie.

Cole became hostile toward me, and asked the teacher to move his seat saying he didn't want to be doing all the work alone due to my lack of appearance at school. I barely saw him anymore.

"You think too much." Summer broke into my thoughts.

We had been hanging out more lately. She had been a good person to talk to about things. She knew what I was going through and knew when and when not to ask things. After doctor appointment's we'd grab Starbucks or something, just to shake our thoughts.

I looked at her from across the table settting down my frappachino.

"Shut up."

She held her hands up, "I'm just saying."

"I know."

Her head cocked at the side, studying me.

"Don't say what your about to say," I said predicting her.

"What?" She pursed her lips.

"You're going to say something deep, and I'm not in the mood," I told her.

She flicked something from her nail.

"You're never in the mood," she frowned.

"Says a dying man to another."

"That's not funny," She pointed a finger at me. I saw a smile tugging at the side of her lips, saying differntly.

"If you say so," I retorted.

"I'm going to stop hanging out with you. You're a bad influence," she announced more to herself.

"Door's right there," I nodded in the direction of the entrance.

She narrowed her eyes at me, "Stop pushing everyone away from you."

I layed my head on the table, sighing. "I said I wasn't in the mood for this crap. If I wanted a therapist I'd hire one."

"I'm not being a therapist, I'm being a friend."

I looked at my watch and stood up. "I've got to-"

"Pick up your brother, I know," she nodded.

"Yeah."

"You never did tell me why you haven't told anyone," she asserted.

"I don't suppose I did. You need a ride home?" I changed the subject.

Summer shook her head, no. She didn't push the issue anymore at the time. She knew me well enough to know when I wasn't going to answer.

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow then," I said.

Her lips formed into a half smile, "Same time same place."

"I'll be the one puking. You know, if you get lost," I joked.

The half smile turned into a grin.

"You can't ever keep your lunch down!" she agreed.

I said goodbye, and hurried to get my brother.

Suprisingly, I had never been late to pick him up. He had no suspicions and would always ask about my day. It hurt to lie to him, when he was so oblivious to things. He accepted my lies too easily.
