Rishi came back from the office pretty late at night, and was surprised to see Lakshmi near the dining area. She put his dinner up on the table, when Rishi requested her to sit while he had his food.
Lakshmi didn't know what to do, but she sat down.
You had dinner? Rishi asked
Lakshmi nodded her head, and Rishi smiled. Her habit of nodding instead of saying yes was something he had always found adorable.
They sat in silence for next few minutes, when Rishi asked her about Varun.
Lakshmi didn't know what to say..she told him that he was a friend from her village, they were family friends, and his baujee liked him a lot
"And you? Did you like him too?" Rishi asked while trying to maintain a neutral tone.
Lakshmi looked into his eyes, with hurt floating in her eyes. "He knows it very well that I love him, yet he is asking this question. She looked down, and didn't say anything.
" I think you should call him, he seems like a good guy, may be it is fate that you both met again"
Lakshmi, now felt angry. He is intentionally rubbing salt on her wounds, she thought."Maybe I will. Do you need anything or can I take your leave now? She said curtly.
Rishi nodded his head in negative, and Lakshmi quickly went back to her room
Rishi came back to his room after dinner, but he was feeling strangely agitated and anxious. "Maybe I will" Lakshmi's words echoed in his head.
He threw his pillow on the floor, and went in the balcony to get some fresh air. It was him who asked her to call Varun, it was him who wants Lakshmi to have someone who can care for her, then why is he feeling so weird
He closed his eyes, and moments of closeness with Lakshmi floated infront of his eyes. Ayush's words also came back to him "Lakshmi deserves a guy better than you".
Varun is her baujee's choice..so he must be good. Lakshmi will be happy with him. Malishka is right..they should help them get together..his mind argued..while his heart grew heavier .and a sinking feeling started coming up in his stomach.
What is wrong with me, Rishi reprimanded himself "What do i want" he shouted to nothingness, and then closed his eyes. Lakshmi, smiling in her bridal dress, emerged in his mind, making him even more anxious than before
