Rishi was expecting that after his warning, Lakshmi will budge and will talk to him about yesterday. He was still not sure what to say to her, but he knew he needed to talk to her. He could no longer deny that he felt something for her, and she needs to know this.
Lakshmi, on the other hand, was keeping herself busy hoping that Rishi will give up and will return back. How long will he be able to stay anyways. She didn't want to talk to him..she knew he would say sorry to her and claim all that happened yesterday was a mistake..and she had no heart to hear that and get her heart broken again.
After some time, Rishi excused himself and went to kitchen to nudge Lakshmi. The house was so small, that he could have no privacy. Lakshmi was busy making ladoo, and her dupatta had slipped away to a side. Rishi was mesmerised looking at her, her hands dipped in batter, her hair gently flowing, and her face gleaming with slight sweat. His eyes wandered to her exposed collar bone, and he found fresh marks on it from yesterday, which made him blush. He slowly went near Lakshmi, which startled her. She questioned him raising her eyebrows, and he pointed towards the hickey apologetically. Lakshmi turned red with shame, and was going to pull her dupatta to cover it, when she saw her hands covered with batter.
Rishi, with a strange expression in his eyes, asked "May I??"
Lakshmi didn't know what to say, so she just nodded
Rishi went closer to her, raising Lakshmi's heartbeat. He slowly opened the knot of her dupatta, while his breath brushed Lakshmi's neck, sending a tingling sensation across her. He then arranged the dupatta in a way that hid her collar bone and then tied the dupatta again. He looked at Lakshmi, and felt the familiar magnetic field again, and his eyes automatically went to her lips, which she wetted out of nervousness. All he wanted to do was kiss her senseless.
"Uhu..uhu.." he heard Shalu cleaning her throat, and he immediately jumped back..creating a distance between him and Lakshmi. Lakshmi was equally embarassed, and turned beetroot red.
"Wo Mai Pani lene aaya tha" Rishi said to shalu
Shalu smiled naughtily "Of course jiju..maine kaha kuch kaha"
Rishi immediately went back in the drawing room, while Shalu kept teasing Lakshmi
Rishi was still thinking of what happened now, when he got a call from office, informing him of an urgent meeting. Reluctantly, he had to leave, and Lakshmi heaved a breath of ease.
The next few hours went in chit chat and she didn't even realise when it was already 9 pm. The family had gathered for dinner, and Lakshmi was serving them, when they heard the bell ring
Chachajee: Is waqt kaun ho sakta hai?
He went to open the door, and was shocked to see Rishi
"Damadjee, aap?"
Rishi:"Mai Lakshmi ko lene aaya hu. Idhar se hi laut raha tha, to socha, ise pick up karke chalta hu"
Chachajee: Arre, aiye na, hum dinner karne hi ja rahe the..aap bhi sath me kar lijiye
Rishi was reluctant, but he didn't feel like saying no to him as he was asking with so much love.
Rishi came to the dining area, shocking everyone, and most of all, Lakshmi.
Shalu: Kya di! Jiju to reh hi nai pate tere bina, aisa kya jadu kiya hai tune unpe
Lakshmi (annoyed) chup kar, warna maar khayege.
Chachajee: Lakshmi, dekh damadjee aaye hai tujhe lene, unke liye bhi ek plate laga de
Lakshmi annoyed, gave Rishi the food, and although he could see that she was angry, he was finding her antics too cute.
After dinner, Rishi said to Lakshmi in front of everyone "It is late now, let's go"
Lakshmi was not ready to give up.
Lakshmi: Par Maine to mummy jee to bol diya hai ke mai aaj yahi rahunge. Aap ek kaam kijiye,aap jaiye mai khud aa jaunge
Rishi (annoyed, murmured to her) Lakshmi, bahut ho gaya tumhara, ab chup chap chalo
Lakshmi: Maine kaha na Mai nahi chalunge. Aap ja sakte hai.
Rishi was really annoyed now. He was not letting her win it
Rishi: okay, theek hai, to phir mai bhi yahi ruk jata hu, chachajee if it okay with you?
