Annabeth's POV
I woke up to the sound of a heartbeat. My eyes fluttered open, and I found myself facing Percy's chest, wrapped in his arms. His head was buried at the top of mine, and one of his hands lightly touched my bare skin. I breathed in the smell of the beach, something Percy always smelled like. His eyes were still shut, and his face had a relaxed position on it. His mouth was slightly open, and a trickle of drool slipped down his chin.
I let out a small laugh and slipped out of bed as quietly as I could. I still had on Percy's shirt from yesterday. As quietly as I could, I went out to the hallway.
I reached a tiny closet in the hall, which held tons of towels. I grabbed one and headed for a shower in the bathroom.
I was just shampooing my hair when I noticed something. Shit. I forgot to get my clothes in Percy's bedroom.
Percy's POV
When I woke up, Annabeth wasn't there. I heard the shower turn off and figured thats where she went. But then I abruptly heard the shower turn off. In a few seconds, Annabeth was at the bathroom door.
"Percy, oh, I didn't know you were awake," she said as she stepped out in surprise. The towel wrapped around her body almost slipped.
Almost.
Luckily, nothing happened. Her face was ruby red, and I bet mine was too. She walked past me to get her clothes off my chair and slipped back into the bathroom without another word.
Well that was awkward. It was like something straight out of a movie or some dirty fan fiction.
(*coughs violently* percabeth fan fiction)
I sighed and decided to make Annabeth and I breakfast after I got ready for the day.
Let's get something straight. I'm not a good cook. I basically poured some cereal into a bowl.
Annabeth came down wearing her shirt and jeans. The shirt stuck to her more because she had just hopped out of the shower. Her hair was loose around her, curly and tangled. Her face was fresh, but it didn't look different because she hardly ever wore makeup.
I must've stared to long because Annabeth blushed and crossed her arms over her chests. "Hey, Perce. Thanks for letting me stay."
"No problem, Wise Girl."
Annabeth smirked and thanked me for the cereal. After punching my shoulder, of course. We sat together on the couch and chatted until late afternoon.
For once in my life, I didn't regret a thing.
