FORMER MYVERYOWN MEMBER HYACINTH MAKES SOLO DEBUT

march 31, 2019 | by L. Kim

Ahliah Kang Moonhye, professionally known as Hyacinth, has finally made her solo debut! It has been two years since the disbandment of MYVERYOWN, a former co-ed group under MASEFIELD Entertainment. Hyacinth was a part of MYVERYOWN from the group's debut until January of 2017 when the group officially disbanded. She parted from MASEFIELD not long after.

Now, Hyacinth is signed under Gala.XCE Entertainment, formerly known as GXE Performing Arts Center. She is nineteen years of age, having graduated from School Of Performing Arts Seoul two years ago, and is currently a student at Sungkyunkwan University. Prior to her solo debut plans, she had managed to keep a strong, loyal fandom through the content she often released on her YouTube channel and social media accounts.

The first video that hinted at her solo debut, titled "Just One More Chance Is All I Need" went viral, hitting an impressive 50 million watches on YouTube in less than seven days.

Now, Hyacinth has released her debut mini-album, titled Hyacinth: Remix One. The entire album consists of songs she wrote from her time as a pre-trainee, all the way up until her most recent departure from FANTAGIO. Eight, the title track, was written to commemorate her mother.

Almost all the songs are entirely produced, written, and arranged by Hyacinth, with Seo Yensoo, a fellow GXCEE producer also filling in a few arrangement credits. The album consists of five different songs and is the first of what appears to be a "remix" series from Hyacinth. There is a combination of both Korean and English songs, showcasing her dexterity when it comes to languages.

In a video elaborating on her journey creating this album as well as most of the content for her debut showcase, released not long after the album dropped, she stated, "I have had my eyes on my solo debut ever since my old group disbanded. This honestly feels like a dream, but I'm so glad I was able to finally put a name on my music and release it to the world."

user: eight is such a good song! i've been listening to it nonstop since it came out.

user: her looks are the only thing that's gotten her here tbh. her voice and dance arent even that good or attractive.
