So far....yet so close!

'You have been in denial all this while, not me!', Pran got out of the car and shouted. Pat was startled. He kept on looking Pran in the eye while tears dropped down his own.

Pran: Don't look at me like that!

Pat: Why? Don't you see love in my eyes? Maybe you just don't want to see.

Pran: Just stop it! Don't you realise that I have moved on? And we really don't have to be in touch, alright!

Pat: Can't you just give me another chance?

Pran: Fuck this nonsense! I am leaving.

'Wait! Just tell me one thing. Do you really love him? Do you love Sean Xu?', Pat grabbed Pran's hand and stopped him.

Pran: I don't think you deserve to know anything about me, after what you did.

Pat: How about what you did?

Pran: I literally don't want to talk to you. Leave my hand.

Pat: I won't. You kissed that guitarist backstage after the concert. You simply cheated on me.

Pran: First of all, I didn't cheat on you. I can never think of doing anything like that. And secondly, he kissed me! Not I! I was just in shock.

Pat tightened the grip of Pran's hand and whined, 'Oh, is it? It didn't seem so though. Why don't you just admit that you kissed him back and actually, you know what, you were seeing him! Am I right?'.

Pran: Leave my hand, Pat! It's hurting!

Pat: Well it doesn't hurt as much as you have hurt me.

Pran: Is this what you wanted to talk about? It's been freaking 2 years. You can't understand shit!

Pat: How can I let you get away with cheating on me so easily, huh? Why do I have to suffer, always?

Pran: I didn't cheat on you, Pat! There was a misunderstanding. Kai thought that I was interested in him. But I wasn't. He kissed me in the heat of the moment... We were just celebrating after the concert. That's it. I would stop him and clear the misunderstanding, but you just...you just beat him up like that, he could have died if I hadn't stopped you. I would never like to see something like that ever! You are fucking scary!

Pat: Am I? Okay, fine I am. I will beat him up if I see him ever again! How do you expect me to react if someone kisses my boyfriend?

Pran: How can anybody expect anything from you? You don't listen to anybody. You saw something for a moment and you assumed something. How can you react like that without knowing the fact?

Pat: Aaaaah! There you go! Again! Same old shit! You always defend others and point out my faults. You didn't see how hurt I was. You never asked what I was going through that time, what my family was going through!

Pran: I didn't get a chance to ask you anything. And I didn't want to after what you did to Kai. You can't do that Pat....to anyone. You just can't control your anger. At times you were this sweet, caring boyfriend and then suddenly you started freaking me out!

Pat: It's not true. You are exaggerating.

Pran: I am not.... I am just done talking. Leave me alone with whatever I have in my life. Go away, like you did two years ago.

Pran was about to leave. Pat sat down and started wailing, 'Don't leave me, Pran! I need you....I really miss you, Just don't leave me again! Give me one more chance'.

'This is meaningless! I am with someone else now! And why do you need another chance? Just to
destroy everything all over again? You can't change, Pat. Maybe we are just not meant to be together.

Pat: You used to say that we are soulmates! I still believe we are....

Pran: I don't believe in anything like that anymore.

Pat: Don't say that Pran. It hurts. Can't you see how broken I am?

Pran: Enough now! Get up! People are looking at you. Stop embarassing yourself.

Pat: I won't. Just tell me that you still love me. What the hell are you doing with that Sean! You don't freaking love him. You can't right, Pran?

Pran: Life is so much more than love. There's trust, comfort, patience and so many other things which make a relationship work. Love is just a part of it.

Pat: Shut up! You don't love him. I knew it.... That's why you are saying all these. You still love me... If you don't then why are you still here?

Pran: Okay, then! You can sit here as long as you want!

Pran started walking towards his car. Suddenly Pat came and hugged him from behind and whispered, 'I won't let you go!'.

It was uncanny how the hug just felt so perfect to Pran, this is what love feels like, smells like! Pran closed his eyes, fighting back tears. He could never feel the same with Sean or anyone, what he feels when he is with Pat. 'Go away, Pat! Go away!', Pran bawled and then burst into tears.

Pat: How can I go away again? ...... Pran, I know that my reaction on that day was wrong and I had hurt you. I don't know what happened to me! I should have just trusted you!..... It's okay if you don't love me, Pran. But please don't hate me.

Pran: I can't hate you, Pat! Never. But I can't be with you either.

Pat: Why Pran? What's stopping you? It was really hard for me to stay away from you. You don't know what I have been through. I had cut contact with everyone just to forget you as you didn't want me in your life. But I couldn't. I love you..... I always will....

As soon as Pran turned around, Pat didn't waste a moment and kissed him, with the passion that Pran thought he would never be able to feel again. He couldn't help but kiss him back even more passionately. Pat tried to pull him closer but suddenly Pran's phone started ringing. He pushed Pat away and went to check his phone in the car. It was a video call from Sean and a reality check for him. 'What's wrong with me! What the hell did I do?', Pran started screaming and meanwhile he found that Pat was sitting beside him. Pran declined the call and said 'I wish you had never come back! ...... Pat, just let me be! Forget that you ever knew me. Can you atleast do this? '.

Pat: Pran! Please don't do this to me!

Pran: Just leave! I want to go back to the life I had before today! Go away, Pat!

Pat: Fine. If that's what you want, I am gonna go away! But this time I won't come back, I promise! Even if you would want me to. Bye, Pran!
