"Your lap might be more comfortable than a real pillow."
—♡︎—I've never feared death.
Not until now, anyway.
It's always been a part of life. I hate to say it but I really did come to terms with my death.
That was before everything.
After finding out about the whole 'farm' thing, I didn't want to die. I didn't want to accept my fate. If I was going to die. It sure as hell wasn't going to by the hands of a monster.
I guess you can say discovering the truth has made me scared of death. Scared of the things I can't control, the things I cant cast as friend or foe.The foe in this situation would be sister Krone, walking towards us with a big smile on her face.
I shoot a glance towards Ray, who is already glancing back at me with the same questioning face.
"Playing Tag just looks like so much fun!" She says, the overly cheery voice making me fill up with more anxiety.
I instinctively move my body closer to Ray's, our sides touching as I try to make myself feel the safeness and familiarity I long for.
"I want to get along with everyone, so let's play tag!", She says.
I glance towards Emma and Norman, who keep a straight face throughout all of this.
My gaze drifts back towards sister Krone.
"We can set the matches time limit for 20 minutes! I'll be it! And you'll all have to try and run away from me."
I almost scoff, we might not be getting chased down by a demon but mama and sister Krone sure do seem like the closest things we've got.
"Well all of you! Up! We better get started to be done by dinner time."
Now, I don't typically play tag. It's been at least two- or- was it three? maybe four years since I've last played a game for real.
I wasn't particularly bad at the game, but ever since then it's been pretty half assed on my part since I found better and more entertaining ways to occupy my time.
But alas, I really don't want to argue with sister Krone.
Her tone suggests that it wasn't a question, but more of a statement. One we'd have to follow.
God, I have a suspicion this isn't going to end well.3rd person pov
"Seven, eight, nine, and ten!" Sister Krone said, removing her hands from her eyes and looking around at the forest beside her,
"Now, let me see what that woman's special children can do!"
She starts quickly making her way to the woods before her, as the grace field children camouflage themselves behind the endless branches and leaves."How will the enemy move, huh?" Asks Ray, peering out from between the branches.
"She'll probably look for us first, and capture as many little ones as she can along the way." He continues.
Norman nods, "yea something like that. We'll see each other in a bit, yeah?"
Ray nods As the two look at each other knowingly before fleeing in opposite directions.Sister Krone ran through the forest at an alarming rate. Stopping between the endless green to listen out for any signs of the children.
Her listening is only met by silence, the only thing to be heard being the rustling of the leaves.
Looking down she spots footprints. Upon closer inspection, she realizes that the heels are much to rooted into the dirt to be real. She starts laughing,
"I guess I'll have to play for real now!" She stated loudly as she begins to sprint deeper into the forest, seemingly faster this time.
(Y/n) rolls her eyes from above, hiding in a tree near the beginning of the woods probably wasn't the best idea. She was now separated from her friends and would have to do a lot more running toward the back later on.
She shook her thoughts away, reminding herself that she only climbed here to get a grasp on how sister Krone plays. The young girl would admit, she seemed good, her steps quick but carefully placed in order to not make too much noise, her breathing controlled. She knew exactly what she was doing. Her screaming at the end did ruin it though, (Y/n) thought any kid within a ten meter radius would've been able to hear her.
But, she closed her eyes and listened, just as sister Krone had merely minutes earlier.
