"Congrats Norman, the time for you to get shipped out has finally come."

(Y/n) grabbed the needle from the underside of the cut banana.
"The stitches should be closer together." She heard sister Krone advise from beside her.
(Y/n) grumbled and followed the woman's advice. Stitching closer together.
"Is there any reason we're using a banana peal?" The younger girl asked.
Sister Krone simply rolled her eyes before answering. "Well I couldn't exactly have you practice on a human, now could I? And banana skin is the closest to human skin, so you'll have to make due."
(Y/n) didn't answer, she tied off the stitch and showed the woman beside her.
"I can see you've made great progress since your first attempt. I think you're stitching lessons aren't needed anymore."
(Y/n)'s eyes lit up at the comment. For the past few hours all she'd heard from the woman was "try again" if the stitching was too far apart, or "not quite" when she'd recite plant remedies for certain illnesses. She'd grow more and more impatient after each comment.

"So we're moving onto bandaging wounds now?" (Y/n) asked.
Sister Krone nodded her head as she gathered the gauze from beside her.
"Yes. This will be much easier than everything else. If you're as smart as you seem to be you'll have no issue with this."

Without answering, (Y/n) grabbed the gauze from the woman's hand.
Sister Krone began advising her of different ways to tie off injuries, and the (h/c) haired girl silently complied.

Just as sister Krone Said, (Y/n) had no trouble mastering her abilities.
The young girl glanced at the clock, thinking she should get out of here before sister Krone begins inquiring about their escape plan.

She shifts in her seat, but before she's able to excuse herself, sister Krone speaks up.
"It's a shame, really. Your determination and level head is so difficult to find in cattle children who know about the farm. You would've done amazing if you chose to be a mom."

"So I'm told." (Y/n) hums under her breath.
"But alas," sister Krone says, "you've already made up your mind."
The older woman began gathering the used supplies, placing them aside neatly.
"If you don't mind me asking, what's your plan exactly? I mean you escape sure, but, what then?"

She pauses for a few moments to let the girl say something, but when she doesn't, she keeps going.

"Are you going to look for other escapees? If there are any alive that is. Or are you going to travel the demon land? Or maybe you and Ray could even—"

"I don't believe I need your suggestion." (Y/n) quickly replied. She knew what sister Krone was hinting at, and she wasn't going to let her use her best friend in whatever sick tactic she was using.

Sister Krone stopped her movement and smiled at the girl, "What? Did I hit a nerve?" She says, amused.

(Y/n) stiffened and felt heat rush to her face.
"You did nothing of the sorts. I just don't appreciate you using the names of people I care about to try and get a reaction out of me."

Sister Krone hums knowingly, "Well it worked didn't it? I must say I didn't learn anything new thought, so you can sleep peacefully tonight knowing that whatever I know, I already knew."

(Y/n) knew very well that curiosity killed the cat. Hell, she was probably one of the people who knew it best. And yet ever since that day they went to the gate, she felt the need to settle her curiosity because what if. What if the truth saved her life? What if it made her realize something she so desperately needed to see?
And so, just like a cat walking into unknown fields covered by long grass, painfully unaware of what lies beyond, (Y/n) decided to settle her curiosity even if the truth would confuse her even more.
