Giyuu could never have imagined his life being this sweet. His tranquil life with the person he loved and a baby in the way. But he started to get anxious, things were going way to smoothly for a while, of course but he started to get suspicious.
You were by his side, your hand holding onto his arm as you walked to soak in the sun, but of course seeing as you were nearing your 3rd trimester with a belly starting to grow, you weren't allowed to walk much or even walk alone, you didn't mind though. You got to spend time with your husband and that was all you could ever really ask for.
Just as he thought, the peace never lasted long, as soon as you were 28 weeks in the pregnancy, the war of demons and mankind had begun. Of course you, yourself couldn't fight, you helped by being a medic, patching the injured slayers and welcoming them into your estate with warm food and medicine. As the war progressed you got to see Giyuu less but you knew it wouldn't last long, you knew that the war would be over soon. Although your swollen belly was getting in the way and impeded your movements, together with the butterfly girls and Aoi you were able to manage, you had t, when Giyuu was in the frontlines, you had to be strong. Being deep in thought, your attention was suddenly being grabbed by the squawking of a very familiar crow.
"BACK UP NEEDED! WE NEED A MEDIC! WE NEED REINFORCEMENTS!" Walkingbriskly out of the estate, you headed towards the location of the fight. It was deep within a mangrove forest, the domain of a high rank swamp demon that was injuring countless slayers. The scent of dampened moss and the earthy smell of the leaves. You were quick to tend to the injured slayers. Almost 15 of them were injured with 8 incapacitated with lost limbs or major damage to organs and 5 dead.
The kakushi who was working diligently beside you informed you that the pillars have defeated 4 upper moons and were soon to arrive. As you were helping a injured slayer out of the forest of lush tress and damp leaf litter covered floor, you felt a strong gust of wind swish past your side, you whipped your head to the side to see in horror. The slayer beside you had her head completely crushed. You defenses heightened at the sound of leaves ruffling. You gasped at the demon now in front of you. It's body was emaciated, lanky almost like a tree. It had three arms that branched out like tree trunks and long, spindly legs that was covered in toadstools and mushrooms, evidently to camouflage in it's domain.
You wordlessly looked at it, with wide eyes, you reached out to grab the slayer's katana tucked in her sheath by her waist but as you held the blade out defensively, getting ready to strike. It lunged at you in inhuman speed grasping its spider like hands on the blade and effectively snapping the blade, the pieces of metal clanked onto the massive rock by your foot. You gasped at the realization of what had happened, you were completely defenseless and not knowing when reinforcements were to come.
