Since then, nagbago na ang tingin ko sakanya. First day yung ng semester. This semester. When I saw him again. Kung dati naiinis ako pag nakikita ko siya ngayon iba na. I hate it, but I pity him. I know it’s kind of a bad thing on his side. And I know it’s the last thing he would want. So I changed it, I don’t pity him instead I adore him. Oo, lumande na ako pagtungtong ko ng 4th year. Naging crush ko na siya nun. Hihi the more I see him the more I fall for him. But I’m not in love with him. Masyadong mabilis. I just like him. Well, kind of super like? Hahaha! Ang lande ko shet.

“Honestly, Grace, you really like a psycho when you’re grinning like that.” napatingin ako sa babaeng nasa harap ko.

I was got carried away with my thoughts. Hindi ko alam nasa room na pala ako. 

“Oh shut-up, Anya. We both know I’m too pretty for that.” I rolled my eyes as I laugh.

“Okay, no comment.” She raised her both hands. Binato ko nga ng papel sa desk ko. 

“Kidding. Girl, umaarangkada ang pretty face mo ha? Ano tong nalaman ko na Kurt brought you to his condo?” she said with a mischievous grin on her pretty face. I’m f—up. How did she know? Oh my god!

“Please tell me hindi to galing sa chismis sa school.” I closed my eyes, praying.

“It isn’t.”

“It isn’t?” nakahinga ako ng maluwag. Then saan niya nakuha yon?

“Well, I was in a bar that night. The truth was I already know that Eli’s back. It was the same day right? I don’t know, I just get a little too emotional so I go to unwind, if that’s what you called it. My phone went dead. I got drunk. A friend from the bar offers me a lift but since it’s raining and I’m too drunk to say my home address he let me stay the night at his place instead.”

“So the friend is a ‘he’?” I gave her a suspicious look.

She flushed. Oh my god! She actually flushed!

“Well.. uh. I mean.. uh, yes, he is.” And she’s stammering! Oh yes, I’m enjoying this. 

“So is ‘he’ has a name?” my smiled grew widely

“Matt. His name’s Matt.” 

“Ooh, nice name. I bet he’s gorgeous, cause if not hindi ka mag-b-blush ng ganyan.” Napahagalpak na ako ng tawa. It’s priceless. 

“I am not! Stop it, Grace! It’s not like I was the only one who spend that night in a ‘guy’s’ place.”

And that shut me up. Naramdaman kong tumaas ang dugo ko sa mukha ko. Damn!

“So yun nga, pagkauwi ko, nagsabi si Manong Guard na hinahanap mo daw ako. I asked him kung anong oras, it was the time na umulan but I don’t have to worry daw because you’re with Mr. Torres. So… how was it?” 

“How was what?” I asked nonchalantly.

“Kurt.”

“Anna Yale!”

“-‘s place.” she grinned. “I’m not yet finished, masyadong kang hot! Chill, my friend.”

“Urgh, you’re not funny, Anya.” I grimace.

“Didn’t try to be one.” She shrugged. “So, how was your night with him? Bet it’s now on your ‘unforgettable moment, huh?” hindi pa rin natatanggal ang ngiti sa mukha niya. 

“Embarrassing moment kamo!”

“I’m intrigued. What happened? Wag mong sabihin inabot ka nanaman ng kashungahan?”

Alam niyo minsan, iniisip ko kung kaibigan ko talaga tong babaeing to. Nakakasakit na eh.

“Not me, blame this monthly visitor.” 

“You’re not..”

“Yes. And yes, inabot lang naman ako ng dysmenorrhea.” Sumimangot ako. 

“Grace, siguro may balat ka sa pwet.” 

Aba’t! binato ko nga ng ballpen! Tell me guys! Kaibigan ba talaga to? Hindi ba dapat dinadamayan niya ako ngayon?

“Thanks for cheering me up, dear friend” I said sarcastically.

Tinawanan lang ako ng bruha!

“That’s too bad. Well, there’s always a next time.” She winked.

“Anya!” binato ko na siya ng notebook. Mauubos na ang gamit ko, pramis. Pero hindi man lang siya tinamaan.

“Kidding.” Humagalpak na man siya ng tawa. Whoa, not so poise, poise-freak Anya.

“Alam mo naman na wala akong plano sa ganyan.”

“I know. I’m just kidding, Gracey. Mailap ka nga mag ka crush, sa ganun pa kaya no? You know what? You should be a nun.” She laughed again pero hindi na ako naka react kasi dumating na yung Lit. Teacher namin. Sht. I almost forgot na may quiz kami! Anong isasagot ko? Hindi ako nakareview. Crap.

I grunted as I reached for my phone. Sino tong panira ng sountrip ko.

“Hi, mom!” I answered.

“I have news!” mom said on the other line. She sounds excited. 

“Whoa, mom. I never thought that you’re an anchor now.” I kid. 

“I really wonder where you’ve got that smart mouth of yours.” 

“Go ask yourself.” we both laughed. I suddenly miss her. Kailan na kaya ulit kami makaka-bonding… 

“Oh, I miss you, honey but guess what?” pagbabalik topic niya. 

“What?” laging ganyan si Mommy, akala ata manghuhula ako.

“You’re getting married!” masayang sabi nito.

“Rea— wait. WHAT? You’ve got to be kidding!” I exclaimed.
