The year is 1947, since the start of a new friendship between Paul and Y/N, nothing but laughter and good memories as toddlers were being created. The McCartney's and the (L/N)'s were always within reach, living right next door to each other and always having playdates. As time passed by, both of them eventually were about to enter school and were growing day by day.

Today was a week before they were going to be in school, and on a playdate like always.

"So, are you excited to go to school? I'm sure nervous..." says Paul, curious but also hopeful that maybe Y/N would be able to ease his nerves about school.

"I sure am excited! I can't wait to make new friends and have lots of fun, but also my mum always says that I should be serious about school to eventually be a doctor and help those in need just like how my parents like to help people." Y/N mentioned, holding two dolls, one on each hand and moving them aside in their playhouse in order to pay attention to Paul and from what she could see, he was anxious and worried.

As she saw him a little too nervous and on the brink of tears, she decided to gently place her hands on top of his own and slowly clasping her hands amongst his. He wasn't exactly sure to how to react to this feeling, to him it felt like a soft and calming feeling, a welcoming feeling of safety and assurance. His face began to slowly turn to a shade of pink as he became flustered and didn't have the words to express how he felt. All he could do is stay still and blush as Y/N smiled at him, softly and letting go to pet his head and speak softly.

"Everything will be just fine, Paulie! As long as we have each other there is nothing to worry about." Y/N said, still petting him softly. All Paul could do was nod in silence and eventually mustered up the courage to speak.

"Y/N, will you always be my friend? Forever and ever?" Paul asked, and hoping to receive the right response from Y/N.

"Of course, as long as you promise to be my friend forever and ever." Y/N responded back, smiling at Paul.

"What kind of question is that? Of course, I will be your friend forever!" Paul exclaimed, shocked that Y/N would ask something as absurd as that.

"Okay! I just wanted to make sure!" Y/N replied back, laughing at the fact that the friendship between Paul and her meant so much to him. It never really affected her that both of them had a close bond, but if it meant something to Paul then she is glad to know that he feels the same about their relationship.

As they continued to speak about what would happen the following week, they continued to spend time with each other and count down the days before they would enter school. They began to prepare for school, such as school related items, what to wear, and if they would end up walking to school together and what time to wake up if they wanted to see each other.

"Well, now that school is starting soon, what do you want to do when you grow up Paulie?" Y/N asked, curious and also wanted to remember for future years to come as to what he wants to potentially do.

"Well, my dad loves music and I have been taught a couple of instruments but one day I want to be a musician. I know my dad keeps wanting me to do formal lessons for music, but I like to just learn by listening to music and playing it." Paul responded, happy that she asked a question about him.

"Oh, a musician sounds lovely!" Y/N said with glee, looking at Paul with eyes of hope and support towards what he just said.

"When I memorize a song, I'll be sure to sing it just for you, Y/N" Paul replied, standing up proudly and taking the words to heart as he looks towards Y/N. Y/N could only blush and cover her face in embarrassment. Paul could only chuckle lightly and softly took hold of Y/N's hands and slowly took them away from her face, it only made her blush more.

"Paul! I'm sorry, I just didn't know that I would be your first listener and judge to all your music. You really trust me to be one of the only people to listen?" Y/N could only ask, still blushing and hoping that it would go away eventually.

"I trust you with all of my heart. I know you'll always be by my side so of course I want you to listen first. Maybe I'll be famous one day, and when I am I still want you by my side." Paul replied, only making her blush more and eventually became flustered.

"Well, if you ever get hurt, I will always be there to aid for you as a future doctor!" Y/N tried to change the subject, hoping to speak of something else before she gets dizzy from her head heating up.

"And if you ever feel sad and lonely, I'll be there to serenade you." Paul replied, smiling.

As they continued to speak about the future, it seemed clear that they were both comfortable with whatever was going to be presented in front of them. Eventually both the mothers encountered the children speaking of the future and seeing how their conversations were leading to a possible relationship in the future. All they could do is be happy with the two getting along, with the kind of connection Paul and Y/N had, it became inevitable that the two had a bond like no other. A kind of bond that instantly connected when they first see one another and a type of bond that was pure and full of good intention. Of course, they're children and obviously have no other intention other than a good one, but as time runs its course, the bond will have grown stronger than before.

"(YM/N), would you and your spouse accept the blessing if Paul so asks for Y/N's hand in marriage" Mary asked, curious to see if she was still on board with them getting married one day.

"Mary, what kind of question is that? Of course, I'm not backing down on what we both discussed on!" (YM/N) replied to Mary.

"I know Paul more than anyone as of right now, and for some reason I keep hearing wedding bells ringing when I see those two together." Mary laughed while telling this to (YM/N).

"Oh, so it's not just me then!" (YM/N) replied as well, laughing.
