Y/N POV
Last night had been a true range of emotions. I wasn't entirely sure how I ended up in my own bed to be awoken by my own alarm clock early the next morning. Though I was glad to be there, because I didn't know what I would do if I woke up still on Natasha's lap. In all honesty I didn't want to think about that night again. I felt bad for breaking down on her and I didn't really want to face her this morning. So I was relieved when I heard the shower running, I could make a clean escape.
I scribbled out a letter saying I was going shopping and that I wouldn't be back until after lunch before sticking it onto the door and walking out. The hotel was pretty empty as I headed for the elevator and down towards the lobby. The only person there was a man behind the front desk. He raised his hand in greeting as I passed and I smiled at him.
When I got outside it was when I remembered I technically didn't have a car. Well I could just take the one we have been using but the keys were upstairs. Perhaps a walk would be good for me anyway. I pull up a map on my phone to direct me towards the closest clothes store, I needed something reasonable for tonight.
At least the bustling streets with everyone in a rush was familiar to me. You blended right into the crowd and no one noticed you more then you noticed them. It was a good feeling, also a slightly home sick feeling. I really just wanted my life with Oliver and Dan back, they were my team. More then my team, my best friends. I was so tempted to give them a call, just to see what was going on. But what if they were already after me or something? What if they found out and I was now on a wanted list? I shook my head and was surprised to see that I was in front of the store I was heading towards.
The outside was lined with flowers and the inside seemed pretty empty, I guess people had work to be doing at this hour. I headed inside and a little bell chimed, alerting anyone to my entrance. A woman wearing a floral shirt and a pair of tight skinny jeans popped her head around a rack of clothes.
"Hello!" She said with a bright smile.
"Hi." I smiled back and she walked over towards me.
"Feel free to look around. I'll be with you in a second, I just have to finish up with another client." She tilted her head towards a woman who was in the back of the shop, seemingly in the process of having a suit fitted to her. Something about her seemed familiar. She probably just had one of those faces. She had blonde, frizzy, hair that was curled into a braid on the back of her head. The suit was a dark green color and had a funky pattern going on in the back.
"Take as much time as you need. I'm in no rush." I answer the woman and she nods before leaving me to go back to the blonde. She turns to look at me and we make eye contact for a second before she raises an eyebrow. I furrow my eyebrows together and give her a small wave which makes her smirk and look away. Alright... we can be weird...
I start to wander around the racks until I come out with a fairly basic three piece dark maroon suit and I stand to the side waiting for the two women to be done. I keep looking around the shop, trying to keep my mind on the current situation and not wandering towards all those dark thoughts I seem to keep bringing back.
"What are you buying the suit for?" The blonde woman asks and I jerk to look at her. She had just stepped off the small platform and she was a lot shorter then I was.
"I have a first date tonight. Decided to dress to impress. What about you?" I ask, politely as the store owner kicks the platform out of the way for me to stand.
"Anniversary dinner." The blonde stands to the side as I start to get the pants of the suit fitted to me.
"That's amazing! How long?" I asked. I was slightly questioning why this woman was still here and talking to me but I guess she wanted to be friendly.
